Physically fast and football fast. Allow Channing Tindall to demonstrate both on the same play.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Travon Walker looks pretty fast too.

In the first quarter Clemson learned that UGA was going to be in the backfield immediately after the snap so running between the tackles or deep passes weren’t going to happen.
In the second quarter they learned that UGA is too fast for them to turn the corner and get up field.

I think Clemson knew it was going to be a long night right about then.

When Clemson had offensive success (relatively speaking) was when we didn’t blitz.
And, yes, our defensive speed was awesome!

Yeah that was great but we need to be careful with the blitzing. A more experienced QB can make you pay for that. Not sure we run into an offense capable of that until SECCG

We rarely brought more than five. That kind of pressure is sustainable.

What? Lol. The game plan was to put pressure on the QB. I would say they executed flawlessly.

Their best offensive play all night were PI penalties. That’s the only way they moved the ball. Dang refs again. Tried to give em the game.

Ugleiuglei looked like the proverbial deer in the headlights most of the night. I wish we had shown a little more offense, but it is hard to imagine what could have been better as far as the defense goes. I am sure in meetings today Kirby, Dan, et al are pointing some things out, but I can’t imagine it.

Secondary coverage has room for improvement despite performing above my expectations.

One of the highlights of the night. Hope Tindall has a big year. He’s had the physical talent, but not always the football IQ. That play looks like physical talent paired with football IQ.

Nakobe played a hell of a game as well. Quay was his normal solid self.

I got the same vibes! Awesome to see!

Didn’t Tindall also make a good play on a flare to one of the backs where he just blew up what would have been a likely first down against an Almost Competitive defense?
Did everyone see us blow up the one time they tried a wheel route?

It was nice to see the wheel route issue addressed positively.

I did. And it was beautiful.

Even Herbie got caught saying, Wow” on the broadcast before CT41 made the tackle.
SEC speed is just different…

Never mind. That didn’t work.
Point was that we may have another R like heat seeking missle in the making.
Speed and destruction in a Dawg is a beautiful thing to see.

We’re truly living in the golden age of defense at UGA with CKS at the helm.

They have been hyping this Shipley kid since he got on campus. And he very well might end up being a gd one. But I have no doubt that this kid had never ran across someone who was 20+ pounds heavier that could that easily run him down. Shock and Awe…

An under appreciated fast from this game and going forward is / will be Arian Smith flying down the field to down punts. He must have had 3 in Saturday’s game within the 10 yard line.

Great point. Keeping Clemmons backed up like that was huge. It gave the defense a great advantage!
Tip of the hat to the whole special teams squads!

This defense is as fast if not faster than the Roquan defense. Even the big’uns are fast.

And we covered wheel routes! Plural!

It’s nice when a squad meets expectations. The Dawgs D did just that. Outfuckingstanding.

He was still accelerating when he made the tackle. My goodness

I said it when I first saw him commit to UGA he reminded me of Roquan the way he tracked down people sideline to sideline. Hoping this dude has a great year. I think it’s his time to step up! Defense all around played better than I think I’ve ever seen. My dad said for a second he thought Erk must have been on that sideline coaching that team!!!
