One step away from the dreaded vote of confidence

Shot.

“Obviously, going from the Paul Johnson system to any other system, we knew was going to take time,” Stansbury said. “But I get it. I understand why people are frustrated. I guarantee you there’s nobody more frustrated than Geoff Collins, his staff and the young men that were out there on Saturday.”

Chaser.

The sphincter, she is tightening.

The tech AD has really found where they keep the good stuff if he saw a lot of positives and thought they dominated their opponent.

I bet the only good the players saw was when the game clock hit 00:00.

The Jiffy Geoff Collins Show has jumped the shark. At least the Dawgs won’t have to be as concerned with chop blocked ankles and knees.

The tech people can’t talk about football without mentioning Paul Johnson. They run him down on Stingtalk and now the AD denigrates him by reference. I think in 15 years his time at Tech will be seen as the good old days and what the program “could be.”

Nerdfootball hc knew his boss was lurking for him, disguising hisself as potential player would buy him a week or two from being a true “wreck”….

From the moment Collins arrived in the 404, it’s always seemed like be cared more about acting and looking like he was a player on the team than being a coach. What a clown.

He seems to desperately want to be liked by the cool kids so badly that he can’t command their respect when it’s required.

I hear they’re organizing a bake sale to raise funds toward the buyout. 😂

  11. Transition to the system is one thing. The bigger problem is the quality of talent. That’s where the Paul Johnson Experience went off the rails. No one with NFL aspirations (offense or defense) wanted to play in that system.

If the transfer portal existed in 2008, Johnson wouldn’t have had a team when he came in.

The 2008 and 2009 GT teams may have been the last two teams with legitimate D-1 talent sprinkled throughout the roster like Morgan Burnett, Michael Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Jonathan Dwyer, Josh Nesbitt, etc.

  12. Holding a pumpkin, coach Collins begins this morning’s practice with, “Gentlemen, I believe this may be a football.”

Tech’s AD is chained to a corpse. What a shitty hire. Did anyone at Tech think this through? I like to beat Tech and hate to lose to Tech but this kind of embarrassment in our state feels like it taints us to some degree. Sad.

I get your point, but the reality is that no legitimate P5 coach would have taken the job and any coach that had any intelligence (or an agent with any intelligence) would have demanded the same thing that Collins did. Seven years to essentially turn over the entire roster twice from top to bottom. The current state of the program can really be traced to the hiring of Paul Johnson in 2008. I get that PJ had won two D-1AA nattys, dominated the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, beaten ND for the first time in something like four decades, but the decision to bring in PJ to run that offense in a P5 league is the headscratcher.

I watched their game. I love hate-watching tech – especially these days.

The game-winning extra-point conversion was pretty sketchy. The call would have been upheld either way it was called on the field. NIU got the initial call and bully for them. I’m not sure what tech’s defensive thinking was on that last NIU possession because they had basically corralled them for three quarters at that point.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how they respond this week. I will literally die laughing if they lose to KSU. Please, baby Jesus, let it happen!

I live for that annual moment in the fall when the leaves are turning and Kroger moves all the tech gear to the clearance table. This year it happened while it’s still technically summer.

If I was one of his players in that practice, I’d put my head down and lay his ass out. I’d be the first player to ever get called for targeting in practice.

Is there any truth to the rumor that the tech AD was seen purchasing a Walter PPK while toting a sack of what smelled like almonds?

To the coach that speaks like Slingblade:

If 404 now = a bullets flying war-zone where the home team lays down and dies, might as well just go-ahead & rename yer mascot murder hornets.

    Call it a day Fech.
