Respect the depth

This is a nice piece about Saturday’s opponent.  I’ve always had something of a soft spot for UAB, considering the political shenanigans the football program has had to tolerate over the years.  And Bill Clark is a helluva coach.

Anyway, you should read the entire piece, if only to discover this nugget:

UAB’s defensive line was so deep entering this season that a backup transferred to Auburn in the hopes of more playing time.

Now, that’s beautiful.

If you can’t go to college, go to Auburn.

  2. I hope we out score them by 35 points and have plenty of mop up time for Beck in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

This team is dangerous. We’d better be focused. The Blazers are full of juniors, seniors and 5th year men and JUCO transfers all wanting to upgrade their free agency stock and what a better place to get noticed than lining up against a #2 UGA Between the Hedges. Might be cliche, but they’re going to give us their best shot. Don’t think they won’t play like a bunch of dudes? Ask OU about Tulane.

I completely agree. The team better come prepared because I believe it will be a fist-fight. My inner-Munson is starting rumble loudly….

        UAB isn’t a cupcake.
Saying or even suggesting that they are is rat poison.
Dawgs need to keep the hammer down for every minute of every single game. No let up. No mercy.
Dabo’s going to try to impress the committee by hanging a million points on every opponent now. He’s all into style points.
We need W’s with style points.

Speaking of transfers, I had no idea Big Kat Bryant had transferred from Auburn to UCF to follow Gus, I guess. He made an impact in the early part of their game against Boise, but then I quit watching.

We need to buckle up and give UAB our FULL attention this weekend.

Given the shortage of receivers it would have been nice to have Demetris Robertson available for this game. Just sayin.’

This will be typical UGA, we start slow and make it close but the LOS will wear UAB down. Hopefully they won’t be able to keep up their play for as long as Clemson but we’ll see. I’m Munsoning now to avoid the rush.
