Disrespect, example two

This one, admittedly, is a closer call, but Barrett Sallee picks the top five running back rooms in college football and Georgia isn’t one of them.  (He does include Georgia as an honorable mention, along with the likes of Central Michigan and Appalachian State, though.)

To be fair, Cook and White are gone, but is it really much of a question about whether the overall production will be there again this season?

Unfortunately the opposition won’t underestimate the Dawgs in the same manner as these dumbasses.

Barrett is, pleasant enough, and he often has reasonable takes, but he can’t get past being an AU Homer. After he “guaranteed” that “auburn will SMOKE Georgia” in 2020,he at least was man enough to admit how brutally dumb that bravado was. If you go only by returning/departed production, I guess this isn’t brutally dumb, but when was the last time UGA lacked a viciously capable run game?

FTMF. All our opponents are welcome to load up to stop the pass thus year. See how that works out for them, right? 🙂

  3. The KM Boys are going to be just fine. Don’t sleep on Edwards as the pride of Moultrie. Depending on how quickly the freshman pick everything up, we’ll be 5 deep at running backs again.

These preseason takes are designed to rile up fan bases as much as anything.

There are many posters on this board with more knowledge and better predictions than Sallee and Dooley and there take is free in the comments.
The brightest and best analyst in my opinion (which I value very highly) is of course the Senator. His take is generally spot on reliable. The small fee he charges monthly to my Visa card is manageable even with the, hopefully, one time supplemental medical charge.

Barrett seems to put more eggs in the lead back basket than the entire RB room. If you go that way his take isn’t unreasonable. If you are rating the rooms though, I can’t see UGA’s as being worse than #4, and my bias has them at #3.

  7. My take away from all of this is the star power at RB is down across the country. I think highly of the RB room at UGA, but this is a sign of how the times have changed with college offenses. The focus has greatly shifted to the QB and WR rooms. The RB’s are no longer the super stars and defenses are more concerned with how to stop the high octane passing attacks rather than some stud tailback on the opposing offense.

    No.

Bama would be there if they still had Williams and Metchie (even though they weren’t running backs).
