“Is that all you got? Is that all you got?”

Just another day at the office for these Dawgs…

“All we’re trying to do is take an unfair advantage that someone is trying to gain, take it out of the game.”

Seth Emerson ($$) digs into this whole “disconcerting signals” penalty thing and, as I suspected, it sounds like an old rule being given new emphasis.

“If you go back three years, you probably rarely saw a foul for disconcerting signals, delay of game on the defense,” Shaw said. “But now you see it a lot more because our officials are so dialed in and trying to pick that up when that happens. It’s a hard call. I wish it was easy. It’s hard. We’ve got a lot better with the claps. But I can’t tell you we don’t miss one every now and then — they’re so hard.”

I guess we should be grateful that Penn Wagers isn’t around for this.

Throw the damned ball, Bobo.

If you enjoyed the performance of Georgia’s passing attack against Kentucky, you won’t want to miss watching the Vanderbilt game.  A few stats:

Even after the shellacking Kentucky took, their defense is still higher ranked in those two categories than Vandy’s.

“This is a tight end that is taking a direct snap and rushing with the football.”

Enjoy this Brock Bowers appreciation clip.

I hope Roman Harper’s right about Bowers throwing a pass in a game soon.  If that doesn’t solidify his Heisman chances, I don’t know what will.  (I keed, I keed… I think.)

“And then physically you’ve got to have a sharp sword. You’ve got to be ready to go. That axe can’t be dull.”

As noted previously here, Florida has had a rough time on the road this season.  Never fear, though, Gator fans.  Billy Napier is on the mother.

Following lopsided losses at then-No. 14 Utah in the season opener and at Kentucky two weeks ago, Napier decided to change his team’s schedule as it prepares to travel to South Carolina. They’re emphasizing more sleep in the days leading up to the game and planning to get to Williams-Brice Stadium earlier than normal Saturday.

“Most of it is mental,” Napier said. “We talked about mentally being prepared, physically being prepared but also emotionally being prepared. You’ve got to anticipate and visualize what it’s going to be like, that it will be challenging.

“There will be ups and downs in the game. Our dialogue during the week [has been] about being prepared to respond. … We’ve got to know and apply the things that we’ve learned in the past.”

Can you imagine Spurrier worrying about his team’s sleeping habits?  I figure Billy’s about one more loss away from reaching out to Derek Dooley for some shower hygiene tips.

‘Bama fans ain’t gonna like this one.

You know it never would have happened if Metchie and Williams hadn’t gotten hurt.

Misinformed

Inconceivable!

Why, I’m old enough to remember when the assholes running college football were swearing under oath in court that player compensation would erode fans’ desire to watch.  Were they wrong, or simply lying through their teeth?

In your heart, you know he’s pointing to the scoreboard.

Kirby’s reaction to Mark Stoops’ whiny comment about buying players is exactly what you’d expect:

“No reaction,” Smart said. “It’s much to do about nothing, really. Mark is trying to garner interest in money from his fan base for his collective. We’re all trying to do the same in terms of trying get money for our collective. Mark and I talked about NIL pregame and we talked about it in our meetings. I’m not biting on that.”

And why would he?  His team already did all the talking needed.  They’ll probably do it next year, too.
