We knew it was coming.

Surprise, surprise.

Ladies and gentlemen, Knowshon Moreno is your SEC freshman of the year.  Unanimously so.

As a sidenote, it’s interesting that McFadden was named offensive player of the year and not Tebow. Could that be a foreshadowing of the Heisman vote?

    The SEC nod was a bone for DMAC in recognition that Tebow has the HT sewn up IMO

    D Mac Should get the Heisman, but the way “they” have been talking up T Teabow I look for the gator Qb to get it. Teabow had a great year but Mcfadden is the best player in the Nation.

    I also think Run DMC should get the Heisman but I’m a little bias due my utter disdain for everything Florida.
    The question I ask is how do the teams perform if you take away the player in question. If you DMac from Arkansas they may not win 4 games. Yes, Jones is a fine running back but he’s not the force McFadden is.
    Conversely if you take Teblow away from Florida they still win 8 or 9 games because of Percy Harvin and all the other talent they have.

    Florida won 9 games WITH Tebow. As much as I really don’t like the kid (primarily b/c he only pitches out of the option when the play has been busted, not really a team player), I think Florida prolly wins 6-7 games without him this year, as bad as their defense was at times.

    Name a first year starting quarterback who could have contributed to winning games as much as TT did and you’ll prove me wrong, but I really don’t think so. By midseason next year we could find out how good the Gators are without him. He is going to miss some games eventually.

    I’m not saying Teblow doesn’t deserve the trophy. He’s had an amazing season. However I just believe McFadden had less to work with than TT yet still put up great numbers.
    Reverse the roles. Put TT on Arkansas and I’d bet he doesn’t put up the numbers because of the lack of threating skill position players. However you put DMac on Florida’s team and he still has as good or even better season.
    Ofcoarse this is just my opinion.
