Dawg porn, enemy observation edition

This’ll get your juices flowing (h/t Seth Emerson).

Yeah, that would include this team.

I’m not positive, but MR and Freeze must have hit it off in Destin or Birmingham this past summer. They’re quickly developing a bromance/mutual man crush relationship.

Richt was my first man crush ever, my freshman year of college (his first year at UGA). We’ve had our ups and downs since then, right now we’re in the midst of an up, but we just came out of the worst down we’ve ever been through. There may be a little jealousy in my voice. I can’t deny that.

If I were an Ole Miss fan I might have a man-crush on Freeze. Of all the recent SEC hires the Rebels seem to have done the best. He will always have recruiting obstacles in Oxford that will hamper him but he seems the kind of coach that will get more out of 2, 3, and 4 star athletes than most. He doesn’t face the same pressures that many SEC coaches do, the fans are just tired of being a doormat and want to be competitve with a few bowls and upsets thrown in. I miss the interaction with their fans…..and The Grove of course. Good luck too Freeze (just heard this week that he was the coach of Michael Oher from The Blindside.)

      • Better than TAMU’s hire of Sumlin?

Based on results, Sumlin looks like the better hire, but aTm’s got at least one 1st round draft pick on both their offensive and defensive lines. Ole Miss has played decent defense all year (Bama barely cracked 300 total yards on them and they held aTm under 500) with a 255 lb. DT.
I think Sumlin has the better overall track record, and did it against a tougher schedule, but I’d place Freeze right there with him.

For the environment he is in, maybe. But to be homest I wasn’t including him in my assessment, just forgot about A&M since they weren’t in the conference before the change. I really appreciate Sumlin being a great hire but he will have a lot more talent to work with than he ever would have at UM. I think he has a great opportunity with Texas being down and him coming out of the blocks so fast. Next year’s recruiting may allow him to be a legit contender within his 1st four years in the conference. Not sure he would have been the right fit at Ole Miss because they are unlikely to be a top contender.

What is interesting is how Freeze got to Ole Miss. Hired the year that Oher signed as an assistant AD. Cannot say that is surprising.

Someone please delete this and ensure it doesn’t get back to the players!!!! This is the kinda hype they dont need to hear. They’ve just started playing like a bunch that isn’t getting any respect, let’s not start now!

Opposing coach drools over the talent level UGA has (and has access to) – nothing new here. If there were awards for sending players to the pros, our trophy case would be overloaded.

Speaking of Ole Miss, what an embarrassing night for their reputation. Newspapers all over the world are running a story about their students shouting racial slurs in protest of Obama. That can’t help football recruiting.

Looking back on the SC game I realize the dawgs had no chance. At all. Spurrier had that whole town so jacked and those kids so amped up, they were practically on PCP. There is no way you win that game, don’t care who you are.
