The NCAA announces more sanctions against Tennessee resulting from a major infractions case against one of Junior’s assistant coaches.

    What in blue blazes takes 3 years to adjudicate? I thought they had expanded the hell out of the NCAA Investigative staff. The end result doesn’t end up looking like great care nor specifics came to rest from the evidence. Including Tenn for the S.O.B. lieing while at USC is assinine.

      I agree 3 years for this is ridiculous but sadly pretty much any non-domestic civil case in the state court system of the State of Georgia takes about that long.

      At least if the Fightin’ Kiffykins lose tomorrow the Irish game will be ALL they have left. Out of the Pac-12 champeenship. Totally eviscerated by the Left Coast media. The ND matchup will be bigger even than their bowl game, likely something such as the Sun Bowl.

      I have a gut telling me that USC stomps the tar out of UCLA, but I would not touch that game were I much of a gambling man.

    Wow. Kiffin has to go down as one of the all time bad hires. One stinking year of bad coaching and many years of NCAA probation. Makes you wonder how long before it hits the fan at USC.

      You’re absolutely right, Debby. You can punish the coach without hurting the current school. Stiff fines for the coach, “show cause” orders for future jobs, any number of ways. Also, put the current school on notice regarding future violations.

      This all assumes the NCAA really wants to be a moral leader. As it stands, their ethics are trash.

    Well timphd, I think it might still be on the fan at USCw after the “Petey payin playas” scandal a couple years back. With the boy wonder in charge there is sure to be a fresh supply soon. Debby B, I have been saying the same thing for years, that the lyin, cheatin, immoral, unethical coaches involved need to be punished. Kiffy left UT just before all *** broke loose and P Carroll did the same thing at USCw. Just before the Reggie Bush payment plan made headlines, old Petey bolted for the Seahawks. When the punishment fits the crime, not just in sports but in all facets of society, then a lot of this stuff going on in our world will at least slow down if it does not outright stop. Just IMHBAO.

    I am no fan of UT but this is wrong. New players and coaches suffer for the sins of others while the guilty continue to coach and get paid.

      Truly insane that the penalties don’t follow the coach. A similar analogy would be our court system declaring someone guilty of a crime, who has since changed address, and then punishing the present occupant of the guilty party’s house.

      Surely the NCAA can delineate the punishment between the institution, coach, booster, player, etc. and sanction each party accordingly. Kiffy (and others) should have to carry a penalty with them to their new school…that would slow down these repeat offenders from continuing to work in CFB.

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen a school ready to fire its coach before the NCAA even finishes metting out punishment from the last coach’s shenanigans.
