Today’s Hate Week moment is brought to you by…

Don’t hold anything back, Coach.

Georgia strength and conditioning director Joe Tereshinski has conveyed to the team this week his feelings for Georgia Tech.

“He just hates Tech with his all might and blood and everything,” quarterback Aaron Murray said.

That made me smile.  Unlike Christian Robinson’s soft-pedaling:

“We have an opponent coming here that probably hates us more than any other opponent,” Robinson said. “It’s probably mutual.”

“Probably”?  If you have to say that, you’re not trying hard enough, son.  Go see Coach T.

Probably?……probably?…………Son are you sure you want to be a Georgia Bulldawg? C-Rob, you’re not running for office, if you got hate in your heart then let it out.

I’m going to give C-Rob a little bit of a bye here since he’s not a native Georgian. He didn’t grow up hating GT or FL or UTk or Auubrn or “fill-in here what you please”. Although 4-5 years should be enough to generate the disgust natives grow-up with everyday, I’ll cut him a little slack.

    • I know you were joshing, but I honestly don’t think he has one ounce of hate in him. Easily the nicest kid on the whole team (and there are a lot of good ones on this team). He most likely was trying not to end up on the ol’ North Avenue bulletin board, thus in the sights of a debilitating cut block.

There are teams I would rather beat than Tech namely… UF, Auburn, UTK, etc.

    • Maybe so… but is there a team you hate to see Georgia lose to more than Georgia Tech?

We got enough hate to go around for everyone but getting beat by Tech is far more embarrassing.

Do you think that the young whippersnapper fans are losing their hate, that the players are reading our blog and the players are subsequently treading between wuss and appeasement? Nah? Then why can’t we get archived articles to hold a hate fest that incorporates our old fart’s hate tutoring to the young fans?

Let’s not dwell on the player’s words that will lead to our angst for not moving the players’s angst meters. We can leave Tereshinski to that since he interfaces with them each day and he certainly can speak for me. Also, no more criticism of the guy that single-handedly has transformed the S&C culture at UGA and now proposes to rile all that beef up. Could we pick up on a few Terishinski quotes that will warm the cockels of our evil hearts during Hate Week??

Not this week Senator, but the other 51 weeks GT is way down the list. I think Robinson is right, only SC hates us as much as GT, doubt these players see GT as their “most wanted”, and they shouldn’t. Conference opponents are much higher on the pecking order.

I hate the yeller jackits and hope they lose every game in every sport to every team in Merica. Let’s beat them by 40.

This… is not harsh enough. Red Cup was holding back because it’s a public forum. You need your hate recalibrated, joyrider.

I agree. I want to beat them so bad that Cumberland Game becomes a quaint footnote as only the 2nd worst blowout in CFB history. Then the 3rd worst, and so on until they tap out, move down to 1-AA and start getting whipped yearly by Georgia Southern yearly instead.

Right on, brother! Some of the younger fans don’t get it, and I guess I could point out “the streak” from the 50’s, or the damage done at times to our field and campus, but honest to God, hating the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets is so integral, so intrinsic a part of being a Dawg, that having to explain it is akin to having to explain why you love your country or hate crime and disease. Some things just ARE. They come with the package, as Artie Lynch suggests in the Senator’s Quote for the Day. Note, by the way, that Artie’s from Massachusetts, so nowhere near being a Georgia native, but he clearly breathed it in as soon as he assumed a Dawg identity, or sooner.

Another older fan base, by the way, that cannot stand the Nerds, are the Irish of Notre Dame. It may be the only thing we have in common with those guys, but that’s a pretty strong bond.

GT is the team I hate to lose to the most. A win is expected, more than a fluke loss is a sign something is wrong with the program.

As for Robinson, yes the intensity for my hatred of the Gators is likely more so.

Having been close to both sides of this game. The Bees hate us more.

So, I think Tech hates us more than we hate them. Don’t get me wrong, they are one of our rival games, but to me Florida is always the real hate. Tech or Auburn is 2nd depending on the individual. I always disliked Tech more, but others (see Kyle) disagree. But I never thought there was any question about the #1 hated opponent being Florida.

Dave, I thought the same thing. Florida is hands-down, without a doubt, no comparison, the team I hate the most. I think it’s a generational thing though. Younger folks will say Florida because we’ve lost to them more than beat them in recent years (thank god that trend is changing). I think older folks will go with Tech or Auburn because of the historical significance. And because, you know, Florida didn’t play football before the 90s.

I submit that all of y’all stop talking about anyone else and hone your hatred down to a fine point directed squarely at the N.A.T.S. I don’t care how you feel about AubuFloriTenneCaroClemsoBama. You must focus. On the maggots. Here. And now.

Hive and Sting Talk are great this week. On Sting Talk they are telling the same stale jokes and they are fighting over the “real” punch lines. On the hive they are predicting a gt win because they have CPJ and they are due. Brilliant analysis.

And they have a hype video where they claim to own the state of Georgia and support this claim by showing footage from games that are 4, 12, and 13 years old. Gurshall was in Kindergarten when Jasper “fumbled”, they have only beat us twice since then.

You’d think for such mathematical geniuses (as they claim to be) they’d know there is no statistical basis for “being due”.
