How do you get Malkom Parrish off your front porch?

You guys know I normally make it a rule not to get into the weeds of verbal commitments here.  But when it’s a rare instance of a kid choosing between Georgia and Georgia Tech, said kid makes a point of raising academics as an important factor in his decision and then chooses to spend the next four years of his life in Athens… well, it’s kind of hard for me to ignore the good folks on StingTalk rising to take the bait.

That some of the Techies had convinced themselves that for Parrish a GT degree would outweigh the dead-end prospect of playing quarterback in the triple-option is almost too cute for words, ain’t it?

Another 4* commit who will never see game play at UGAy. It drives me crazy how they waste players just to keep them out of other teams hands.

    Sorry bro, that’s AlaBAMA!

Seems like later on in the thread they are starting to realize their variety in majors doesn’t really stack up. Their false hope in a something that never really existed dissolving away is hilarious to read.

At least one guy gets it…His last paragraph sums it up nicely….
Imma guessing he’ll get voted off their tiny little delusional island soon..

“Why? Because he doesn’t want to go to an engineering school? Have you ever bothered comparing the list of majors at uga v. those at GT?”

“If you want to major in anything outside of science or management there is nearly no reason to go to GT.”

“Some of you act like GT is the most amazing end-all, be-all of educations. It’s not. It’s an elite public engineering school. It’s got a good business administration / management program. Once you get past that there isn’t anything noticeably better about GT academic’s than ugay’s.”

Reading Stingtalk is one of the great joys of my life. I visit that site nearly every single day. It is one of the few places where the targets of a stereotype seem to really work really, really hard to live up to the image.

Buenos Trabajo on the handle Señor Peyote (call me Pancho Tequila)! And it is brutally true—the Techsters are tragically without a clue.

Did anyone notice the permanent anti Irish quote in one guy’s post? “Throw tater tots on the ground and yell famine”. There are some nasty nerds that populate that site. Just bitter and nasty. I couldn’t be a Tech fan and deal with that misery on a daily basis.

Yeah, I saw it, man those guys to live in misery. I suppose being handed your ass by UGA will do that though.

I have to say, that was one of the more rational and self-aware threads I’ve read there. That said, screw ’em! I wish Richt would put Parrish in at QB with 2 minutes left to score our 9th TD on a QB keeper.

There were lots of examples of butt-hurt ignorance per usual, though, too. How ’bout the twit who listed “lawyer” on his list of high-paying professions you’d be better off going to UGA for? Wow. What degree do I pursue for that one? (if I’m not mistaken the same idiot dismissed English and Philosophy as useless UG majors.)

Yep, there sure was. I enjoyed that. 🙂

I also enjoyed the guys talking about butt-hurt futures, and posting the countdown/meltdown clock. 🙂

I love how they call UGA fans ignorant, backward, knuckle-draggers while simultaneously thinking “Ugay” is a clever insult line to refer to our school.

    Irony, thy name is stingtalk.

“legaljacket” most likely went to GT for his undergrad and then to law school, so he probably knows something about high earning potential. The remaining enginerds haven’t figured out where the big money is. lol.

I noticed one veteran poster there expounding on what it’s like in the working world, giving out career advice. Then he said something about him applying to graduate schools. Then I noticed he had over 12,000 posts on Stingtalk.

Amazing. Just goes to show you can rationalize anything especially when you don’t know the difference between a fact and an opinion.

Bluto, you always preface any discussion of recuriting with something like today’s “You guys know I normally make it a rule not to get into the weeds of verbal commitments here.” Its okay to talk recruiting. Your insight and opinion is just as legit as anyone elses, perhaps moreso since you cover the Dawgs in depth. We’ve had a batch of verbals in the past week, which seems to me to be important Dawg news.

Whatever. We don’t need his sorry ass because CPJs system can plug nearly anyone in. And if y’all don’t get lucky and/or continue getting handed games by the officials year after year, we will win this series on a consistent basis. Check the stat sheet from the last couple of years and you’ll see that we consistently outperform you, but shoot ourselves in the foot or get jobbed out of wins. Cannot wait till that levels out and you all have to eat it. Enjoy reading StingTalk then.

Totally wrong about GA Tech’s “Management “program. It is the “athlete-student” degree where you take 75% of the classes at Moorehouse or Clarke Atlanta & transfer the credits.

If they wanted to project an image of Tech as the place really intelligent/thoughtful kids go to school, Stingtalk would ban some (most) of these people from posting.

As the thread went on, the grapes got more sour. Such sophistication and class! If the nerds were really all that serious about football, CPJ would be feeling some heat…but it’s almost as if they’re afraid of him.
There are some great comments on this GTP thread. Dawg fans have so much more wit than the geeks.
