Johnny Football, bringing the media down to his level

Shorter Michael Rosenberg:  Johnny Manziel shouldn’t challenge the NCAA’s amateurism rules because he doesn’t appreciate behaving stupidly the way I would if I were in his shoes.

Rosenberg is moving to Montana soon

“Would he demand that Texas secede from the union?”

    I thought it already did.

‘We pretty much hung out with the f—— Beatles.’

Beatles? That’s it. I’m finished with him. I had him pegged as an Eagles fan

“Witnesses said Carter got angry when the band played `Hotel California’ instead of the song he requested, and he refused to step down,”

Yeah Bankok ain’t Panama City now is it? Getting stabbed with a piece of rebar outside the “LongHorn Salon” sounds like a page out of Diehl’s book Thai Horse. There is a hotel in Bankok called the Slam Intercontinental Hotel . If you are a camera nut there are 20 acres of gardens. Amazing stuff.

I didn’t know the name of the hotel but I remember having a grand time there

Had Texas seceded already, there would be no building supplies available elsewhere; a growth boom like nothing we have ever seen, or read about (unless others follow immediately and offer us a choice.) If you had me pegged as an Eagles fan, you did get something right.

It’s so weird because I remember Bangkok thugs only using rebar to beat people not impale them. I was just thankful that Bluto (who like the Dude but unlike Mac is not exactly what you would call a huge Eagles fan) was not on vaca there bitching about ‘Hotel California.’ After all, getting kicked out of a tuk-tuk (for example: if one spent all his baht on adult entertainment and had none left for cab fare) is one thing but if Bluto (for example) took a shot of rebar to the upper torso, what would we do here?

Would have to admit, Eagles is my pick for #1 band all-time. There are so many ways to measure that it isn’t defensible but for my formula, they are numero uno.

AHD—happy for ND folks, there could be so much more of that if the loonies would get out of the way, but that “boom” wouldn’t contend. That ND spurt is more like a mini-gold rush, still damned impressive when you look at the rest of the economy while it was taking off.

If you read Three and Out, which was the book on Rich Rod’s tenure at Michigan, you can read a Rosenberg column without thinking the guys is a terminal douche bag.

I really don’t want JFF to become the poster child for NCAA reform, either. All the issues are there, but all wrapped up in a pretty unsympathetic character at the moment.

Then again, within a week, the “he’s misunderstood/a media victim” PR pieces will start hitting the air. And once he starts tossing TD passes, all will be forgotten.

Tough decision for TAMU, imo. My gut tells me he accepted money for those autographs although after 2010 Camgate, without video of the money changing hands the NCAA may sit meekly on their hands. TAMU AD and administration have a few weeks to decide whether to risk the season being vacated when/if additional info surfaces at a later date.

After the Manning fiasco they should know not to rely on his “cross my heart, hope to die” answers. When you add the father’s recent comments that it could all come unraveled and end very badly, they should think this through very thoroughly before standing with him. Of course, after hiring the same law firm Auburn engaged, that decision may already have been made. TAMU’s honor code is not something they take lightly, even if Johnny Moron does. Also, with the circus atmosphere around that team now it has to be a huge distraction for the staff and other players. Sumlin says it is business as usual at practice regarding QB reps but you have to wonder. I don’t think they beat Bama in September regardless of which QB is under center.

His alleged comments captured on video are pretty damning, if true, and it also seems fair to ask who signs 300 autographs for an autograph vendor out of the kindness of his heart.

      Johnny Paycheck.
