I only knew it because you asked. That and Todd Gurley is what I believe to be the best player UGA has had in over a decade.

Gurley. Knew it without looking it up.

Rantavious having 5 TDs is pretty remarkable to me as well.

the distribution of the TDs is nice as well. Several guys with 4, 2 guys with 5 and a RB with 6. Murray did a great job of getting everyone involved…guess the flip side is that injuries suck.

Great question. Of course, he was #1 on the team in rushing TDs as well.

Who was second on the team in rushing TDs?

Gurley was my guess as well, but only because I figured you wouldn’t have asked the question otherwise 🙂

Basically for any question regarding UGA football the answer is Todd Gurley.

That’s all you had to say.

  8. Interesting stat. Gurley had 6 TDs catching the ball out of the backfield.
What two seniors tied for 2nd with 5 apiece. NO peeking. I was surprised at who had 4. Yowsir.

I would have guessed Artie Lynch but the fact that Gurley led in TDs rushing AND TDs receiving really says something about him–particularly since he was injured for much of the season.

It’s a blessing we get to see him one more season before he calls himself up the big leagues. Kids these days, they’re gone before you know it.

      • Ah…. DIF both my sons are gone on to secondary educations for their careers. It did go by sooooooo fast. I still maintain “The DAD” status. Barely.
Just not too sure how long I can hold on. My youngest a finance guy/future lawdawg is perusing my financials and my eldest (med school) is looking at my prescriptions and so forth. All this with my brides blessing. IF only if I would have had a couple of daughters to buffer all this. My best friends have older daughters and they don’t get half the grief from their sons that I enjoy!!!!! Hindsight is 20-20.

          Two things:

(1.) Your wife must be really smart. [Take it from me, I studied genetics].
(2.) You would be paying for a daughter’s wedding in addition to or instead of two rehearsal dinners. [Take it from me, two rehearsal dinners are much less expensive than one wedding].

Came close: Conley and Gurley in that order. Lynch was a small surprise. Hope he is doing well getting ready for the big life games.

As many of the others before me, I got it correct without cheating. While I did guess Gurley, I was surprised that I was correct. What a blessing it is to have this young man on our team. Great trivia question!

How about this? He didn’t have a receiving TD until the South Carolina game. Load yesterday’s tape up to 1:47. 3rd and 8…Clowney uses a combined bull rush with a crazy spin to break open Houston and the left side of our line…Murray scrambles and back peddles just enough for Gurley to cut to the sideline. The move he made on the USCar LB might have been some what of a revelation…or it might have been that Bobo had to use him in passing situations as the year went on because injuries sapped the WR position of the ability to stretch the field.

It should also be noted that Mason had 3 TD passes to Gurley in 2.5 games. (Gurley had 4 of 6 TDs in the final 3 games) In the KY game, a screen that Gurley took to the house for 25~ yards. The other two were just simple crossing patterns through the shallow part of the defense with 3 WR sets and Lynch clearing space either by running a route (GT) or running interference on an opposite crossing route (NEB).

BTW…this is a nifty little place to see all of that…
