So… what do you hope/expect to see tomorrow?

The expect part is pretty obvious.  If you need details, here’s a summary.

For me, the hope part is simple.  While I know there will be some hiccups in the opener – given the new QB, center and offensive coordinator, it would be unexpected if there weren’t – what I really want to see from the coaches and the players is a program that’s growing into one that looks like it knows how to take care of business consistently.  For the UL-M game, that means taking control of the game early, not letting the Warhawks a chance to climb back in and using the second half to rest starters and get key (read:  green) reserves a decent chance to get their feet wet.

Do that, and I won’t care what the margin of victory is.  (Not that I expect the Dawgs to cover 35.5, anyway.)

What say you?

Exactly what you said. We need to get Lambert settled in and both units to gel. Expose our shortcomings now rather than aN SEC opponent.

I hope to see a team that is prepared. I don’t want to see a lot of mental errors, stupid penalties or guys running around acting like they’re not sure where they’re supposed to line up or what they’re supposed to do. I don’t want to see missed blocks, missed tackles, blown coverage or out throws to receivers who turn in. And I especially don’t want to see us struggle with clock management or call timeouts after a commercial break. Perhaps I hope for too much.

I guess you don’t want to watch then. Even the best pro teams aren’t perfect in the pre-season. I just don’t want to see the start of the regression to the mean on turnovers.

I expect I need some Ativan. Wonder if Lambert has any I could borrow.
I also expect a full serving of GATA with a side of wtf.
Lastly, I expect a lot more productivity out of them boys than my employer is getting out of me today.
    GO DAWGS!!

Hope: a confident QB who can see the field. Marshall back at the to of his game. Mitchell back at the top of his game.

I hope to see Marshall look like he’s comfortable running again, some good play out of the young receivers, no injuries, a defense that can stop the inside running game, a couple of different qbs play, lots of backups getting some serious playing time and an offense that at least looks like it knows what it wants to do. I hope Chubb is sitting by the second half after getting about 150 yds in the first half.

We might not cover, but we had better not make it an interesting game.

I hope to see a rout.

But, I believe 17-10 half with a lot of head scratching. A final of 38-13 and some questions headed to Nashville.

GA 26-32-1 ATS last ten years as a home favorite.

I wanna see Chubb get 100 yds and 2 TDs in the 1st half and ride the pine for the 2nd half. I wanna see Marshall windmill around the end and hit stride for +60 TD run. I wanna see at least 3 TE with receptions. I wanna see no false starts from our O-line and I also wanna see a big goose egg on the score board for ULM.

    Too much?

I expect a few false starts and few illegal substitution penalties.

But I also expect 100 yards from Chubb in the first half and UGA victory.

    What I hope to see…
    – Greyson looking experienced, comfortable and benefiting from the quality around him.
    – A middle-of-the-line stuffing DL
    – A running game that meets expectations – including Marshall
    – A LBing crew that meets expectations
    – An OL that meets expectations
    – A pleasant surprise at center
    – Mitchell living up to his healthy ability
    – Newbie WR’s wowing
    – DB’s knowing what to do and looking sharp
    – Correct adjustments (when needed) by Offensive and Defensive coaches
    – A stifling D and a thrilling O
    – Continuous subbing on both sides of the ball
    – The only foot-off-the-gas decision is subbing 4th string players
    – No pooch kicks
    – No QB rolling out to pass when we are on the opponent’s 1 yard line

This is a rare reply in another language because I think it is more than impolite to blog in a language that not everyone understands. I’ve had 2 yrs of Spanish in HS, 2yrs in college and have consulted in more than one country that has Spanish as the spoken and written language. My blog name was given to me in HS Spanish by the teacher and it’s humor was appreciated by the Puerto Ricans and Cubans who shared the classroom.

I lived in a very diverse neighborhood before I knew that was cool Lol. We had a family of Cuban neighbors. I learned a lot of words and phrases. Suck my balls – was mama huevo. Huevo is an egg. Usually during any pickup basketball game. Later I heard in Central America, and I been through all of it…. Chupar mis bolas! Bolas are a kind of potato ball. Fried up. Tasty. COJONES is used by Mexicans all the time to mean you’re scared. And last cojones in north and central Spain means a chest or wardrobe for furniture. It’s how you say it. Yeah., I’ve been there too. And no, I didn’t hi jack your name. I’m never that subtle.

I can tell you what I don’t expect to see tomorrow…CMR getting away with a bonehead call like the OBS made last night without someone calling for his head. Nobody is talking about this because SC won, and because it’s Spurrier, but getting stopped on 4th and 1 instead of kicking a gimme field goal to go up 7 late in 4th Q would have put half the UGA fan base in lynch mob mode…win or lose.

That was a mistake by Spurrier, but it tells us how confident he is in his team. He didn’t think 7 points with a risk of OT was a strong position.

It was definitely boneheaded. He said so after the game and said he called a poor game. A lot of really good coaches make bad decisions. He has also made some great adjustments and won a lot of games. I am guessing Richt has too.

Hope Ho Lee plays for us, Mitchell pulls a great reception out of his Magician’s Hat, Chubb stays in until he wants to come out and is used in the first play on a diversion dive into the line and Lambert flips back to Sony who goes around left end behind Blazevich’s block, everyone gets to play and no injuries to either side (I want those UL-M in good shape to play Bama) and that the cookies are still warm from the oven at game time.

  18. What I hope is pretty much what you said: opportunity for meaningful game time across the board. But I am concerned that the first 1/3 of this season may not set us up well for the middle 3d. UGA will face 4 shaky O’s in a row, which may not have our D well prepped for much better O’s that we’ll start to see in week 5. Good to get experience, no doubt, but also good to know your starting 11 and their immediate backups can handle 4 grueling quarters, which we’re gonna have with Bama, UT, MO and maybe UF. Seen that way, may be a good thing if Carolina or even ULM give us a tough one.

I would like to see Lambert hit something like 17/22 for 200 yards 2TDs and no INTs in the first half. Then whoever the back up is get some playing time mid 3rd quarter.

All the backs get plenty of time, but see chubb get all the snaps in the first 2-3 series and then a little bit less Chubb and more of the other guys. On Defense I would like to see guys get after the QB and stop the run.

This being the first game of the year, I expect them to give us fits, I expect a few bad snaps and even a turnover from our new C and QB (although it will be taken in stride by them and the fans), expect that our secondary will be exploited until we begin to exploit their ass with interceptions, Theus to be called offsides at least once and for hiccups galore, all QBs to have interception scares, Ramsey to come in during the second half and demonstrate that they picked the wrong guy, Bauta to have a good day and for the mixed good and bad play to leave us alarmed and scratching our heads.

I do not expect us to be like Appalachian St-star-crossed Michigan and that we don’t worry anymore about out-of-state encampments from Big10.

If it goes great, we’ll say…it was ULM. If it goes bad we’ll say Richt worries about prostates, not football, and should be fired.

What I expect is somewhere in the middle.

A couple, or less, of good quarters by the starters before boredom and the quality of the competition sets in.

It is not as much the quantity of first-game mistakes, as the timing of them.

We are gonna have folks in the wrong place. We are gonna have quarterbacks and receivers who don’t play well together yet.

All this and more is to be expected. The SenaTor is correct, the most important thing is to get a win with no injuries.

Is ULM better than Vandy? Guess we shall see.

    Pick yer hats well.

I expect the big Nose tackle for ULM to really test BK at center. It could be a battle. I expect to see miss communication between QB and WR’s, too many young guys. I expect to see ULM with 8 men in the box until we either pass them silly or our Oline blows through them like sh*t through a goose. I expect that like most Mid-majors ULM will hang tough for 21/2 quarters then they will collapse from lack of depth. In short I’ll take a win any way we can get it.

Want to see our D keep LMU score under 10. Limiting the mistakes on STs and the O would satisfy me. Plenty of running, with a few long throws downfield, and maybe intermediate/short throws to the TEs. Nothing too cute.

Would love to hear how scared Munson would be over the new coordinator, center and QB combination because I can imagine him wondering if we could even get the ball snapped and hand it off to Chubb!

What I want to see beyond QB, which is obvious…
What we look like at fullback
A stable of capable backs (realizing it is only UL-M)
Glimpses of WRs who can block downfield and have good hands
How does Schotty use the TE
