We haven’t lost a quarterback. We’ve gained a talking head.

It’s like he never left.

It was announced Wednesday that Tim Tebow would be returning to his analyst role with the network this weekend. Tebow rejoin SEC Network’s SEC Nation, its two-hour College GameDay-esque pregame show, which will be shot on location in Nashville before Georgia and Vanderbilt play (on CBS!).

Just in time for Nashville!  Are we lucky ducks or what?

Sorry everyone, but I cannot hate Tim Tebow. Based on how he has conducted his life since he left Florida, I think he has shown he is a commendable and authentic person. I hope I am never disappointed by some egregious future error in his life – but that might just reveal who he is. Like me, a schmuck, trying to get it right but saved by grace like all of us. I have to give him kudos like I give Mark kudos – interested in the long term view of trying, ( the operative term here is ‘trying) to influence people for the good in life. There is no one better in big time college football at that than Mark. Don’t hate me guys – I still detest and abhor all things Gator – but have to rise in defense of Tim. An exception as a person, if not a Gator. Thanks for listening and don’t bomb my house.

Once he left Florida, my hatred of him left too. I was pulling for him to make the Eagles team. I think he’s genuine in his faith and he has always handled himself with dignity and class.

I don’t listen to the talking heads anyway, I’m glad he’s got a job.

You’ll change that tune when you hear something about the Bulldogs come out of his mouth.

Think of all the little Filipino boys who grab their crotch and run around in circles screaming when his picture appears on tv. The horror of it all!

Can tell from your detail photo; at least I think that’s possible with your mouth behind all that hair and all, plus the surprised look on your face as if someone just told you that Hillary said that she made a mistake with the e-mails. And that’s the funniest name for mucous that I’ve ever read.

And we don’t correct anyone’s name on here, Budd. We leave it out as a warning for all to respect our ignorance when they are considering our posts. 🙂

I said after he left Florida. I hated him with a purple passion the four years he was there. Since he left, I haven’t heard or seen anything from him but working hard to make an NFL team and not acting a fool like most professional athletes.

There are plenty of pro athletes that are easy to hate, no matter where they went to college.

You mean you missed his medical career? Some said he got pretty snippety in the Philippines while really not trying to get ahead. He talked circumspectly with his cutting remarks about a Biblical ceremony while confessing he was a Gentile.

“….and not acting a fool like most.. …” You didn’t even hear that he got married? Sheesh!

Tebow is a better NFL QB than he is an analyst. Life peeked for him at 22. Enjoy your slow slide to the middle Timmy.

Shit, the guy’s landed on his feet. I’d give my left one to have the same “slow slide” he’s had. I’d have had a lot more fun with it than he has.

Speaking of fun, it is kind of a damn shame that out of 32 teams, nobody could make room for Tebow on the two or three deep. Seems like at least one coach would be a gambler who’d want someone like Tebow in situations where the situation was “Well, let’s throw something weird at them. Nothing else is working.” Helluva lot more interesting to watch than your prototype NFL quarterback. Seems like someone would have him on the team as just a novelty or the go-to guy on the “26 Weird Wildcat” package or whatever.

A Heisman trophy, quarterback for a national championship team and a legendary college player, and a faith as strong as Mark Richt’s. That’s who Tim Tebow is and what Tim Tebow has. I don’t think we need to worry about his “slide to the middle”.

Hell other than Gary Danielson and Pollock he beats most of the idiots we have to listen to ( Yeah I know I don’t have to listen but they have better researchers ,spotters and access so you actually do learn something sometimes.) He played in the SEC and he,unlike Booger, can actually properly conjugate a verb. Now if he could just shorten his delivery.
Another subject ,did Pollack predict Lambert starts?

Watching Holtz on TV was like watching the last days of Anna Nicole Smith or something. Just made me feel bad. I hope he’s at home relaxing and enjoying the fruits of his labors.

Like most above, I have great respect for him as a person. He was a heckuva college athlete, a person who has been upstanding in every way as a person, and it is hard to see how anyone can be against him. That said, he is closer to being an NFL QB than he is a qualified analyst.

But I can’t put in a call for the SEC/ESPN to fire Tebow as long as FBomb/Springer is put forth as an expert and given a daily show. The one time I might have watched something other than live CFB, they have this goofball on. At least move him to earlier in the day, or better, run his show between midnight and sunrise. Outside of his own little harem, I wonder if they realize how many fans they run away from the late afternoon viewing slot just because of him?

One of the things about Timmy was that he was not a very good Christian when the Gators lost. I mean he would cry and pout and run off the field without congratulating any of the opposing team. Now granted he did get many chances to be a good loser and I know now days fans think that you should humiliate your opponents but he is a Christian right? The other sin he has is Pride. The only reason he is not in the NFL right now was that he let his pride keep him from being anything but a QB. Pride goes before a fall I think I heard somewhere. Tim must have missed that verse. Other than those petty little things I think he is a nice guy who will never play QB again.

    • I don’t want to seem uncharitable but, sorry, I really can’t stand Tim Tebow. During an era when flag happy SEC refs were penalizing any act drawing attention to one’s self Tim Tebow would run up and down the sidelines doing the Gator Chomp every time he scored a TD often right in front of the opponent’s bench. That is the definition of bad sportsmanship. And no flag! He was a system
QB with minimal QB skills who somehow BSed the world into thinking he was a good player–even tricked the Heisman voters into giving him that award for leading his team to 3 losses. I just don’t get it how the previous QB led the Gators to the national championship and got nothing but Timmy took over, lost 3 games, and won the Heisman. Lose one for the Gipper? He was a no talent hot dog whose team won with defense yet he got all the credit because in Meyer’s system the QB scores all the TDs by either running or faking the run and throwing a short pop pass. I am amazed one of the D-linemen didn’t beat the crap out of him.

Pretty much. Spoiled home schooled kid that until the NFL smacked him with a wake up call had never had things not go his way. As for his faith, I don’t care. Morality and decency aren’t solely dependent on religion. There are plenty of great human beings that are silent about their faith or even agnostic.

      • Wow Mayor, somehow you’ve managed to classify Tebow as a loser POS person. Lets see, 2 NC rings, Heisman, starting NFL QB who lead an average team to the playoffs. Not to mention a strong Christian who actually walks the walk. Now he has a cush job on TV talking about football. Would you like him more if he was a drinking, whoring, tattoed, thug wanna be like so many NFL players?

        • @gatriguy

Him being a strong Christian has dick to do with him not making it in he NFL or being a crappy analyst. That is a Teflon defense that people throw about about someone when the facts don’t support their argument. Has anyone considered that him not making it in the NFL, not being a good analyst, and scoring a 22 on the wonderlic might all be symptoms of the same illness? I.e., the guy just isn’t very smart and can’t think quickly on his feet. Luckily for him, in college, surrounded by Percy Harvey and tons of other talent, he didn’t really have to. He could only fake that for so long.

          • I’m not saying he is a good NFL QB, he’s not. But then again neither are you. As for as being a good analyst, Mickey sees value in him. Those guys didn’t get to be a major media company by being stupid. He’s not a professional journalist, that’s not what ESPN wants him for. If you think just anybody could have stepped into that FU system and been just as successful, then as the Senator says: “I don’t know what to say”.

            Like

            • @gatriguy

Didn’t say that. Said he was surrounded by a ton of offensive talent, a great defense, and Urban’s fanatical special teams.

He didn’t have to process a ton of information in that system. He was the battering ram that cranked out first downs and TDs. He never worked under center. He never turned his back to D on play action. His footwork and throwing motion were a disaster.

If you don’t believe that, I’d offer the walking papers that now 4 different NFL teams have handed him as evidence.

Sorry Mayor, it isn’t, and wasn’t Tebow’s fault he was allowed to taunt and not get flagged. That is on the ref’s, and has to be on orders from the league office. It should be addressed, but yo cannot blame Tebow for that. And I have watched Corch’s “system” at ohio and it is not based on pop passes, or QBs doing all the scoring. He simply adapted it when he had Tebow, and adjusted it again when he lost Braxton Miller. Cordele Jones seems pretty conventional to me, and Elliot gets his fair share of yards and TDs.

        Like

        • I agree that the refs and the SEC front office are to blame for not flagging Tebow for the Gator Chomp but I still blame Tebow for doing it–a low class bad sportsmanship act flagged or not. And the QBs at Bowling Green and Utah had almost exactly the same stats the Tebow had at FU the year he won the Heisman. Those guys just didn’t have the 20 TDs rushing and passing that the media loved so much. They had like 18 rushing and 22 passing and vice-versa. So why is Tebow so great and the others not? He’ll Alex Smith is a starter in the NFL. Tebow was a fiction. A fake. A RB who could just barely throw the ball just enough to make the run work and the run threat with his OL was just enough to make the pass work. GPOOE my ass!! He was just surrounded with talent.
