Coach Spurrier, you call that your best shot?

Love scoring 50 on spurrier..since he made that comment almost 20 years ago about no visiting team scoring 50 in Sanford stadium and then doing it.

Great stuff. Lambert sets record, Mitchell back in style, Chubb rolls, Gamecocks melt down. No visible injuries.

  6. Wow! Wow! Wow! First home game missed since 2007 and it was a hell of a game to miss. Lol! So much awesome! Funny thing is that watching Isaiah Wynn may have been my favorite part of the game, even with Lambert breaking NCAA and school records, Chubb getting 2000 yards, Mitchell getting over 100 and the D stone walling in the 2nd half. Sure, it could be an anomaly but I like to think this game was a statement for 2015. Go Dawgs!

What a great game and a team we can look forward to watching for years!
    The Dawgs have arrived.
Other than Bama..Georgia should be well favored for here on out…And may even be against Bama…it being a home game.
Watching now to see what Ole Miss does with them.
Can you imagine..we started off ranked behind the Barn?!?!

Nice to have an OC who does not have to have his QB try to throw it 30+ yards on every passing play. OL dominate. RB’s what can you say 5 TD’s spread among 3 backs. Very few if any 3rd and long. D woke up after Pruitt blistered their assessment at the half. Get a special teams coach and we just might have a coaching staff that can actually win the SEC.

The difference is defense. Mix the 2013 defense with this team’s offense and we lost last weekend and tonight’s a shootout win against a less talented team that nobody’s happy with.

LSU was scary..they had no passing game at all and still made the Barners look like a high school team. Trigga looked like a clown out there! Don’t regret missing LSU in the regular season anyway…

They looked tough. Fournette was a monster, and they manhandled Auburn up front. Auburn has serious problems though. Johnson losing the ball on his windup was the funniest play I’ve seen so far this year.

Wow. Just, wow. After all the angst following our shaky showing against Vandy. THAT was just what the doctor ordered. I LOVED that we went for the kick late in the game. Precisely what Spurrier would do to us given the chance. I had some serious doubts about Lambert and I voiced them here. I’d say tonight he showed why he won the job. Special teams are still mostly a dumpster fire and we need to address that. But our offense was just plain fun to watch. That was freaking awesome!

Have we thrown any slants until this game? Cuz that looked like he was throwing darts on those.

It is pretty apparent that the UGA OC and HC were holding back some things offensively in the first 2 games to spring them on Spurrier. Lambert may be the best QB in the SEC.

This was a bad USCe team. Walk-on QB in his first start. Tons of injuries to key players (RB, Center, Defense, etc.). Lambert only hit short passes. Spurrier mailed this one in. Dawgs D got manhandled early. Schottie finally reached into the playbook but will need much more against Bama.

Ughhhh….trying to help out the 15%ers with all that but man it’s hard. Must suck to be one. 😜

My only disappointment is that we didn’t get to see any good visor tossing on the sideline. Otherwise, I loved watching us hang 52 on Stevie and then watching him sound dumbfounded in the post game press conference. Priceless! There are always things to improve upon, but the Dawgs played great in so many areas today and most importantly they took care of business without any doubt against one of our long term thorn in the side teams.

I was disappointed by the lack of the visor toss as well until, as the game wore on, I noticed there was no trickeration forthcoming from Spurrier. We broke his spirit so thoroughly, he couldn’t even summon up an onsides kick or a fake punt in the second half.

Agree completely about Spurrier, he sounded like we broke his spirit after that game. Another dismal year like last year and he maybe heading for the exit. The fact when trying to save face he referenced the 1995 52-17 score at one point tells me this lopsided loss really hurt him good!

Perhaps we have sent him hither from Sanford for the last (and most delicious) time using the old fashioned Georgia Way. Cum-bah-yah, muther.

Anyone want a rooster with all his tailfeathers kicked out by the end of the first half? His cock-a-doodles are short and stubby where once dark and large curls gracefully hung.

Just kiddin’. What really happened is he walked up to a guest of mine yesterday and, after crowing, took a dump on my patio. I calmly called the nearby hen over close to him and then notified the mean “Jenkins” rooster that he was rustling his squeeze. That was late afternoon and this morning tail feathers abounded on the patio and the driveway. Then “Stubby” showed up.

That was the day’s beginning. Then the wife put some wings, fried okra, tomato slices and peas that we daintily polished off while watching the Dawgs pluck the tail feathers from an even bigger cock. And that pretty well wrapped up my 75th birthday. Tomorrow – the beach!

Well, what are we gonna talk about next week? Southern giving us their best shot? Why haven’t we gotten our back up QB more reps in case Lambert gets hurt? What the hell was Schotty doing revealing so much of our offense before October? Why didn’t we pooch kick before half and prevent that long run back giving them a cheap FG? Inquiring geniuses want to know.

And it would be nice if you bumped up Richt’s image for QB training. While you’re at it , you can go back to the point where Richt was doubted as our coach after losing the first two of the season, then work your way forward to last night.

Somewhere in Columbia, South Carolina, Hell’s waiting room, sleeps Steve Spurrier, El Pollo Loco, freshly-choked head chicken at Cluck U, saggy and irrelevant. He thrashes around in bed, still clutching his game plan, mumbling; “Dixieland Glory” playing in his un-visored noggin, until his aging bladder summons him for the third time tonight. Waking with a start, he clearly says: “Not my 85-foot banner!” Mrs. Spurrier mumbles and rolls over. Stumbling to the rest room, he remembers. It wasn’t a dream. Blinding lights- the scoreboard- 52! No, that’s my 52! Mine! I ran a trick play! Where’s Danny? Where’s 1995? That tall kid…wearing number eleven…no, no, I’m number eleven! You cursed brat! Look what you’ve done! I’m melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a transfer from Virginia could destroy my beautiful wickedness? No, not 1966 again! I can’t go back there! Stanfill!!!!

[Cut to exterior shot of Castle Spurrier, night time]

[sound effects: slow, trickling urination]. The kicker played well…

Does Richt get credit for a “big game” win?

If Spurrier was supposed to find a way to beat us (or at least keep it close) then was that a face plant / brain fart game for him?

Was our coaching last night full of bone headed decisions?

    Shouldn’t have Bauta played?

Was that victory all of Pruitt’s doing?

And my real favorite….why don’t we just tell Marshall to KO out of the end zone?

P.S. We had a bad SC team at home with our O and improved D …how could you not believe we were going to cover the spread? C’mon fans.

    • Of course, he doesn’t. To the “realists,” the only big games are the ones we lose.

I’m waiting for some of the realists to come out and give us their perspective today.

        Don’t know if I’m a “realist”..but here’s some perspective..
CMR did exactly what some of us have been calling for.
(and not for a second do I believe it’s because he reads our opinions on GTP…we use GTP to voice our ideas, concerns and wring our hands and each other’s necks sometimes 🙂 )
Everyone is happy because things changed last night..for the much better.
Had he come out with the Vandy plan..Georgia still would have won but it would not have been so wonderful and exciting.
So most realists won’t stand corrected..because what they called for happened just the way they thought and hoped it would.
1 The “Evil Richt” showed up.
        2. The “Vanilla Offense” didn’t.
        3. CMR certainly kept his foot on the pedal.
        4. The “Killer Instinct” was in full view for 60 minutes.
I myself never called for CMR to do anything other than hunker down and he did. I never doubted his call for Lambert to be the starter. I, and a lot of others, just wanted to see a more agressive, evil Richt.
We love him every bit as much as we had imagined we would.
        He’a beautiful thang!
        Long live the Evil CMR!

I do hope the quarterback coach can help Lambert with his slow release, I mean, hell, he did have one incompletion.

“Coach ..did you know Lambert broke Bobo’s record for completions?”
