Kirby Smart, tour guide

If you want to learn something about Smart’s musical taste, then you’ll want to watch this video.

I know I’m getting old when I hear somebody refer to ’90s rap music as “old-school”.

He needs to upgrade his ride big time, if nothing else to simply get into a safer suv that will protect him far better in a crash. I’d recommend the new XC90.

I believe Ford probably pays him a fair amount of change to drive one of their cars, don’t expect an XC90 in the future.

With the kind of money he’s making, I think I’d find my way out of such a clause or forgo it altogether. Regardless, I seriously doubt Ford is paying him, as he’s driving a car with some age on it, instead of a shiny new, loaded one, which would make more sense and project a better image for Ford.

        • He probably hasn’t had time to pick it out yet. I imagine now that things will slow down a little until June/July that he’ll be making a visit to Akins Ford to select the vehicle of his choosing.

In fairness, during some of my nights out downtown as a student, I often saw several arches myself, so he gets a pass from me.

to be fair, it’s a common mistake and something I didn’t pay attention to it until someone explained that the Arches were on Prince Avenue and served french fries.

In fact, the campus email system back in that era was called “ARCHES”

Did you hear him say the fans came in “Groves” last Saturday? Wasn’t he a Valedictorian?

(well, it was south Georgia and all…)

Yeah, that’s a problem for the University’s most prominent public ambassador. Come on, Kirby.

Somebody, please educate this man about his Alma mater’s best-known landmark.

Made me cringe. If he ever says “Who’s that coming down the track” instead of “what’s that coming down the track” I’m afraid I may lose it. Also, does the reporter seem uncomfortably… uh…personable to anyone else?

    • That wasn’t good for an alumnus to say that. Even my kids call it the Arch.

Re the video: shouldn’t there be a disclaimer? ‘I am Mrs. Kirby Smart and I approved this ……. message’.
And talk about Memory Lane. Did Damon Evans ever get into trouble in a black SUV, I forgot?

I thought the SEC Network representative had nice length….was there a football coach in the car?…the car with the South Carolina tag? Maybe Kirbs borrowed that from Boom. What, exactly, is “new age country?”

It’s what they played in Sanford for that concert a few years ago that has given rise to neo-Patriotism and anti-intellectualism. Also, it tends to be as full of references to women as objects of desire and casual drug use as some hip-hop music is, but it’s okay because it’s white men doing the singing.

I noticed he left out the best part of North Campus, springtime each year. I finally quit driving on campusd ue to the number of near accidents I’d have every day.
