This is mindboggling.
A question during News 10’s interview with former Baylor Chancellor and President Ken Starr about a rape victim’s email that was sent to his office and to several other officials led to an awkward interruption during which a well-known crisis management specialist convinced Starr to change his response.
The email, with a subject line that read, “I was raped at Baylor”, was sent by a former student who says she was raped while attending the school in 2010.
The woman, who has not been identified, told ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” Wednesday morning that she did not believe Starr’s call for transparency was genuine because he never responded to her email.
KWTX anchor Julie Hays asked Starr if he had seen it, he first responded “I honestly may have. I’m not denying that I saw it.”
After he answered, Merrie Spaeth, whom Starr had introduced as a family friend, approached KWTX News Director, Mikel Lauber, who was positioned behind the camera during the interview.
Lauber says Spaeth asked him to promise to not use that portion of the interview.
When he said no, Spaeth interrupted the interview, telling Starr as the camera continued to roll that she needed to talk to him.
When Hays tried to ask another question, Spaeth interrupted and insisted that she needed to talk to Starr.
The two then left the room.
Several minutes later they returned, and Spaeth told Hays to ask the question again, saying that she wanted to make sure the answer didn’t end up “mis-edited.”
After a few minutes out of the room, the two returned.
When Hays asked again about the email, Starr responded, “I’m honestly going to say, I have no recollection of that.”
He then turned to Spaeth and asked, “Is that OK?”
Spaeth replied, “Don’t look at me, look at her,” referring to Hays.
He then turned back to Hays who asked the question a third time.
Starr responded, “I honestly have no recollection of seeing such an email and I believe that I would remember seeing such an email. The president of the University gets lots of emails. I don’t even see a lot of the emails that come into the office of the President. I have no recollection of it. None.”
Jeebus. They’re gonna have to come up with a whole new Rule of Holes for Kenneth Starr.
The “family friend” is, as I’ve noted before, the same media genius who advised Craig James. Any advice she’s giving Starr beyond “I don’t think you should open your mouth in public” is a waste of money, assuming she’s charging him anything. And if she isn’t, you know what they say about what free advice is worth.

At the height of his game he was always just someone else’s show dog. He’s never had any real power – certainly not ‘one of the most powerful men in the world’ unless perhaps he’s XX commercial. While Ken Starr has enjoyed his splash in the Republican spotlight, getting accolades and rewards for what he did for “the ratfuckers” long ago, he was always the nice guy caught up in public worship. He doesn’t possess guile nor was he ever anything but a tool used for political vengeance. Now that he is on unfamiliar ground as an anti-hero, he now shows the country boy naivete that makes one a simpleton when responding to egregious questions that only have egregious answers and trying to give the “transparency” answers he naively thinks will convince people that he remains a good guy in his heart.
I firmly believe he is a good guy in his heart, but stupid for ever considering his passion for winning football over all else would endear him to Baylor forever. His lack of sensitivity and problematic posture concerning women altogether made him an ogre , not only in the minds of those raped, but their families and the alumna of Baylor.
It’s shit like this that makes me abhor male-dominated portions of our society as speaking for all of us, but I can do something about it by letting women run things for a while in our government and other areas in our society dominated by us males, most of us not having the IQ of a palm tree. Women running things can’t be any worse than what we have been used to for years from the men.

Just havin’ fun while talking Dogdom events and you have to pee on my parade, just when feeling feisty again about walking and peeing upright (funny you should mention that) and doing a little of Manual’s work outside. The Amnesian complains about me peeing standing up because, she claims, it kills the azaleas. That has caused friends to ask me to pee in their yards because they can’t get rid of their azaleas whose roots travel yds and strangle other flowering varieties.
Things just aren’t as volatile as they used to be here, but the summer is just getting started. Is it as hot in Athens as it is down heah? My son in Ca asks often if I’ve visited recently the place where he first drew a breath of Athens air coming into this world. My Grandson is wearing Dawg apparel from Grandpa all over the Bay Country and recently saw a jacket in passing and promptly had to have it. Good little Dawg, pat-pat.

I can’t let this go. She is NOT worthy of support, she is NOT a good candidate. There isn’t any shred of moxy that it takes to be a strong leader contained within her, it’s just not who she is, and while it’s true it can’t get much worse, our general identity as a nation of Americans will erode and get worse, it does now and it has done since the ’80’s.
The American culture is not what it used to be and we are nothing like what most think we are. We are a society of government reliance, plain and simple. People like you and I do not see eye to eye because the shift in who we are culturally is significantly larger than it should be. We don’t know who we are anymore, which is why we don’t ever have an effective leader. We are people that take what we are given, watch tv, and imagine that it’s still post ww2 America.

The Clintons are as sleazy as you can get, and while they both are, the Queen Bitch takes what Americans will support/vote for to an all time low. Thirteen hours. What difference does it make?
As a collective society, we should all weep at what we have squandered of our inheritance. Cannot blame our kids if they condemn us to hell once they see the autopsy results of what America was.

Don’t forget about endangering national security by keeping top secret information on an unencrypted personal email server, then deleting most of the emails so they couldn’t be investigated. You’re right she is experienced, and that gives us plenty of information to draw conclusions on, and it is clear that Hilary is unworthy of being president. I didn’t like Trump at first, but seeing the organized violence and intimidation commited by Democrat protestors at his rallies made me realize that the American left has gotten out of control and needs to be knocked down 5-6 pegs, and it doesn’t matter who does it.

Marrie Spaeth is an institution down here in The Big D. According to the local press, we shouldn’t play up her involvement with Craig James too much — she claims to have dropped him quickly because he refused to play ethically. Her more memorable campaign would be the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads that did John Kerry in. (A campaign Ms. Spaeth claimed went beyond her original intent because she neglected to contract for final veto power.)
Unfortunately, it would appear as if her more recent clients are swiftboating themselves with no need for Ms. Spaeth’s assistance. Of note is that Ms. Spaeth personally publishes a monthly memo of PR gaffes (the “BIMBO Memo”: http://spaethcom.com/blog/Bimbo). We’ll see if Mr. Starr makes it.

When the interviewer asks the question, watch Starr. His eyebrows go up (surprise) then he nods several times (affirmation). I stopped watching right then. He answered it all right then.
