OR, updated

I don’t know which I find more interesting about Georgia’s latest depth chart — that Greyson Lambert is now listed as the uncontested starting quarterback, or that Nick Chubb and Brendan Douglas are co-number ones at running back.

I guess Nick needs to show out more to impress the coaches.

Love it when he gets into the game. Bailing us out against Spurrier to give Gurley a breather, blowing up the 3 gators on a long gain and that leaping somersault againt the Zoo for 6! DGD and great story.

Yes he is but the ball security issue may put an end to it with all the options available to KS at RB with when Michel and Real Deal II are back. He served us well but that ship may have sailed except for clean up duty. Like others, Herrien took my breath away after seeing what others had been whispering about this summer….and he was behind Baby Champ.

          same.

when he put the ball on the ground my stomach sank and i remembered bad fumbles against Mizzou and Vandy from Douglas.

That wasn’t a bad fumble. Guy put his squarely on the ball. He had it high and tight ….just the way the ball was struck.

Truth…. At first blush I muttered Ah Gawd, but after seeing the replay that NC cat just hit the ball squarely on the leather and caused the squirt. Douglas may serve as an efficient short yardage option in such situations.

I don’t disagree with you, when I saw the replay I changed my initial opinion of the fumble because it was a solid lick right on the ball. But there is a history, and some of the others were due to loose security. Smart may feel differently but I see him being used for blocking security, and mop up. Not to say he won’t get a bone occasionally late in a game but what I have seen, and heard, of Herrien, and realizing that Holyfield was ahead of him until the injury, I don’t know how you keep them off the field. And there are more coming in next year, to RBs rated in the Top 10 are already verbally committed.

Hope it does not mean Chubb suffered an injury in the UNC game that leaves him questionable this week.

I’ve seen a lot of people griping about Lambert and why isn’t Eason the starter? So I expect some heads to explode after reading this new depth chart. But I don’t care who starts. Eason’s going to play and I don’t think there’s any doubt he’s taking the job before the year is out. I heard Kirby say Lambert went in to run the three minute drill because he knows how that works. Makes perfect sense to me. This is really no different than Stafford’s situation in 2006. It’ll happen. After seeing how things were deployed in the NC game, I really have faith in Jim Chaney.

It was a good opening, I liked how he had 4 drives of 5 minutes or longer especially against a up tempo team. The offense moved the ball giving time to allow the young defense to catch their breath and be coached up. ~50 rushes to ~20 pass attempts so heavy run but enough passes to keep them honest.

  8. Its vs Nicholls St. Lambert gets a pity start/chance to redeem himself vs Eason. Chubb probably wont start but will see significant plaing time until the lead gets ooc. I forsee garbage time in this one.

Brice Ramsey will see playing time vs Nicholls St.

I don’t think Buechele at Texas was ranked coming out of HS anywhere close to Eason. Senator can look that one up… Anywho, Strong starts his freshman QB and IMO Texas does not win that game without him!
Eason needs to get coached up this week and thrown into the fire Saturday as I am sure everyone here feels the same.

Yeah, I knew nothing about Buechele but he was on fire last night. Almost cost them with the INT, but in the end, he and Swoopes got it done. If they could’ve avoided the stupid penalties in the second half, ND wouldn’t have been able to come back. Texas killed three straight drives with penalties, going 3 & out each time.

Strong, a defensive coach, showed Gus how rotating QBs is supposed to work. Gus seemed clueless against Clemson, just throwing whoever happened to be standing near him in to quarterback.

Could be just me, but Buechele looked like he wasn’t very tall..(couldn’t really tell from TV..but I got that impression) I wonder if that would affect his HS ratings.

QB seems to be a weird position for the ranking services.

But there are so few great QBs in the country.

Smart is really, really following the Sun Tzu playbook. Will Chubb or Douglas start? Is Chubb hurt? Lambert had a superior game to Eason? Will Eason transfer in a fit of rage? The horror. The horror.

Or maybe he’s just going full on Belechik and screwing with everyone. Kirby’s wife, a fine athlete in her own right, could probably start at QB this week and we should roll Nicholls State. Why tip anything to anyone, though.

Did any of you hear the interview with Saban after the total destruction of USC? He was pissed that the Tide had started so slow and had taken so long to begin the utter evisceration of their opponent. At least Nick Jr. looked happy after our win. Now he is back at his job of screwing with the media. The talking heads will be exploding. Kirby hasn’t got time for this shit.

Don’t want to see Chubb hurt. I would start him and roll with him until he gets his 300 yards. If any UGA back has had a recent Heisman opportunity it is Mr. Chubb.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I suspect we will see the same quarterback rotation this week and at Mizzou. Lambert starts and Eason comes in first series of second quarter… just like g day.

I feel the same, but I wouldnt be surprised to see anything.

2 have two weeks to get things worked out before the trip to Ole Miss. Ole Miss is looking pretty good in the first half against FSU.
