Today, in duh

Can’t argue with this insight.

The timing would be nice, I gotta admit.

Any word on whether we have to do our best coaching job, and whether we’ve done that all year?

This article about the Texas State Bobcat’s coach’s quotes postgame struck a chord: http://www.mystatesman.com/news/sports/college-football/texas-state-coach-ready-to-recruit-new-faces-after/nswh4/

“Triply” important to start playing their best ball.
Kirby and Coach Boom have a lot in common.
    Smart? Not sure, lately.

Here’s one for you all…Unranked UGA vs. ranked Florida. UGA is 0 for the last 8 in those situations. Last time UGA came in unranked and beat a ranked Florida team? 1989 in Ray Goff’s first season.

There must be a coaches’ guide to Quotes that mean nothing but sound like you know WTF you are doing.
If you consider that we played our two best games against UNC and UT and lost to UT because our special teams and defense could not stop them with 10 seconds left in the game, we have absolutely sucked. If I was the UNC coach I would still be pissed that my team lost to us.
Baring a Mark Richt (yes I’m going there) finish this season, we are not going to a bowl. And to think we made fun of GT last year for breaking a streak.
I’ve followed the Dawgs since my first year at UGA 1965 and I have had my heart removed so many times by our team and assorted coaches that I have become numb now. I look at every game with a sense of dread. How will we screw this up today? I had hoped that Kirby would at least be able to get the team to play with discipline even if they were not as talented as the other team but either he can’t get their attention or he doesn’t know how to do it. We have effectively decided that we are going to OJT our all world QB this year and play like we are Alabama even though we are not and let the wins and losses fall where they may. Glad Kirby has the big money guys on his side because he is going to need them.

I want us to win every game, but I cannot say that winning because I want to go to a bowl game this December is what drives me. I will watch every game we play, re-watch the tapes of most of those, but this is not a fun team to watch for even a die hard fan like me. Haven’t felt like this since the mid-nineties, but I am doing better than many UGA fans I know who are now doing normal, civilian stuff on Saturdays and not watching our games at all. Not sure how they do that but I have to admit, it is now the “other” games that are the most fun to watch. I am excited to see the game this Saturday to see if we used the two weeks to address the obvious problems we have shown in the first half of the season.
