    Good to hear. I like my beer but have had far more problems in stadiums that allow the sale of alcohol.

      I sort of lean this way, too. I fully expect beer sales to happen as colleges love nothing like they love money, but I tend to think it won’t make the game atmosphere better in any way.

    I like the get hammered before going in approach then I can sober up before driving home. No more sneaking in bourbon last time I did that I almost fell from the first row of the 300 section onto the people below me. thank God that dawg fan grabbed my shirt and pulled me back.

    At Sanford Stadium, keep in mind less than 10% of our volunteer concession labor is old enough to sell beer.

    Rest assured, we voted ‘no’ to keep your wait times low.

    I cant imagine the concessions being any worse, now if they have to pour a beer the lines will back up into the field of play.

      That is actually why the sale of beer isn’t going to cause the problem so many here have commented on. If you limit it to 2 beers per person in line, no one will get enough beer at Sanford to get inebriated. There has been a long history of slow service at Sanford, even without the additional demand for a product as beer will bring.

    Looks like the AD doesn’t feel there’s nothing finer in the land than a drunk, obnoxious Georgia fan.

    Personally, I think it’s dumb as hell to get drunk before/during a UGA game. When I go to Sanford Stadium, I’m not going there to get hammered. I’m going there for the game. But as long as I’m not being disturbed, I don’t care whether someone else does get drunk.

      This is nonsense. More drunk people when it is not sold inside because people get hammered before to “maintain” or sneak in liquor instead of drinking beer inside. If you don’t recognize this, you don’t go to games with people that drink.

        If someone feels they have to get really blasted before a game in order to maintain drunkenness throughout a game, to fully enjoy the experience, then they’re not in the stadium for the game itself. And I’d just as soon they stayed home and got pasted there so that those of us who are actually there for the game and not the drinkfest didn’t have to be around their drunk, sloppy asses.

          What you should do is put your money where your mouth is. Buy extra tickets and keep them unused. That way, drunks can’t use those tickets. If everyone did it, no more drunks. Hooray!

        Bullshit. I used to do it when I was a student and in my 20’s, beer inside would have been great for me then, it would have been a lot easier to keep drinking in the game without the hassle of sneaking it in or the threat of getting tossed out. We’ve got enough drunk 40 and 50 year old men embarrassing themselves now and dropping F-bombs in front of 8 year old girls.

    I’m not a season ticket holder but go to games because my wife gets tickets often from her doctor boss. If I go to a game I want to be relatively sober for the experience and to remember the fourth quarter which means light alcohol.

    While at home after a day of intensive yard work, etc., game on. I’m enjoying good craft beer with a toilet nearby. And fourth quarters are sometimes fuzzy.

    I think alcohol sales should stay out of Sanford regardless of lost revenue.

    It is nice to see the smart, better decision being made for once instead of the one that makes the most money.

    I am sure the money will win out eventually, but in the meantime it is nice to see this.

    Especially since I live in Lexington and the Kentucky stadium is the only one other than Sanford I ever attend cfb games.

    If beer sales do come to the SEC I believe each school must brew its own and only available at the stadium. I think a craft beer rivalry would pair nicely to today’s collegiate commercial atmosphere. Hillbilly Ale (robust amber with a flavor of orange) or the ever popular, Cock’s Pale Pilsner.
