Today, in America is a great country, comes this heartwarming story of a man who’s learned his lesson so completely that he’s able to skip past the Alabama analyst stage and go straight to coaching again:
After Hugh Freeze and Rich Rodriguez were recently awarded second chances in their coaching careers, Southern Miss may be on the verge of giving Art Briles his.
The former Baylor football head coach is on the Hattiesburg campus to interview for USM’s vacant offensive coordinator position, a source has confirmed to the Sun Herald.
Doesn’t that just give you the warm and fuzzies all over?
Could Auburn be next?

Hopefully there are strong enough student groups to cause a backlash. Hell, he couldn’t even sneak past as an analyst for a CFL team without an uproar that made the team say “no thanks”.

Mr. Briles, here’s the application. Under Section 6 where it asks about your involvement in any pending litigation or judgements against you…just look the other way.

No, Senator, it doesn’t. Nor does it give me cold chills. I don’t care one whit what USM does nor does it concern me. That’s their business. Likewise, It concerns me none if the state of California educates the entire population of Mexico and Honduras with their money. I don’t care what Derek and Chili do or say, nor do I care if Ralph Northam is racist. It’s none of my damn business. Life in the tiny kingdom is good and it will stay that way even if the rest of the country goes to hell. Southern Miss, you say, is hiring an accomplished ass? Big fuckin deal.
