In retrospect, Coach, maybe texting a German player “I’m your new Hitler” wasn’t the smartest approach to take.

          That’s true. And yet, in what context would this be an appropriate way to talk to another adult? The military, maybe? Is football the same as the military?

          I get that sports are different from other learning and/or performance environments, but is there no limit to the manner of humiliation and degradation? Asking seriously.

    It is absolutely shocking that Jason Brown stepped in a pile of shit. He seemed so thoughtful and articulate. The kind of guy that was very precise with his speech. Jeez, He has always operated on the very fringe of what is acceptable. it is the primary reason that he is still a juco coach. I am just surprised that people are surprised.

        It’s hilarious how you’ve missed the obvious irony of Cornyn’s quoting Mussolini – that quote was Mussolini criticizing democratic socialist government structures. So he’s simply underscored that he’s on the same side as Mussolini.

    *Disclaimer- I’ve never played organized football. (But I was in the USMC, I saw plenty of disrespect in boot camp)

    This guy was/is vulgar and disrespectful at times to his players. I understand that different people have different leadership styles, but his is wrong. I refuse to believe that you can’t get a message across to young men without being vulgar and belittling like this guy is. But he has a beach house and 3 Caddy’s, and I don’t.
