Blue chip recruiting graphic, 2000-21

The chart at this link is mesmerizing to watch, but it also explains a lot about the falling fortunes at places like Tennessee and Miami, and, of course, the rise of Alabama.

Best part of that slide: the logos chosen to represent Flurduh and The U.

UGA is like a glider: it just wants to fly and soar. UF is like an OV-10 Bronko (the widowmaker) : it’s got the aerodynamics of a rock.

The icon for the Florida metric is a guy wearing jean shorts. Absolute best part of that chart.

Note the level of underachievement by Texas. Lots of blue chips, but 15 years of meh.

shoulda kept ole Mack Brown….reminds me of Tennessee in not keeping Fulmer.

probably the biggest difference, I believe Texas will rebound…..it will be very tough for Tennessee.

I think Mack had played out in Austin and they didn’t have much of a choice. They’ve made poor choices since then despite more or less getting whomever they wanted (save Saban). I’m honestly surprised a guy who could recruit a 5 star DL to HOUSTON couldn’t make it work in Austin.

    • As much as you’re correct about Tx, Fsu is remarkable for how bad they’ve been with that amount of talent. I’m pretty sure I could have coached them to more wins since their beatdown by Oregon by simply getting out of the way. Texas has been meh, Fsu has been blech!@#%

    The Hobnail Boot.

That win signaled the shift in power in the SEC East. Richt knocked them out on the field, then kicked them out of Atlanta, and now Kirby is throwing dirt on their grave. I do not GAS who they hire: Tennessee is down for the count until Georgia screws up somehow. This chart just proves it.
