Today, in I read it on the Internet, so it must be true

I appreciate the number of emails I received from you guys about Georgia Tech’s embarrassing loss to NIU and the reaction to that over at Stingtalk.  Rather than highlight any individual anger or wrist-slitting going on over there, I’ll just point out that things are so bad, there isn’t a single mention of UGA on the front page of the board right now.  Given the way some of them obsess over the Dawgs, good or bad, that ought to tell you how well Coach 404 is going over with the fan base today.

However, if you’re looking for some comedic relief, I can safely recommend TigerNetHere’s one brief example that had me chuckling.

  1. Hahahahahahahahaha!

Coach 404/Waffle House is a joke. We’re going to beat them mercilessly on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The Clemson fans who are rationalizing their playoff chances over us are clowns. They should probably be worrying about whether an undefeated Notre Dame or a 1-loss Pac 12 champion gets in over their Almost Competitive Conference championship.

If that person was really on the committee they are blind except for the missed field goal our special team was great. They are delusional. We live in Greenville SC we got congrats from the Clemson fans at church today.

At least with the triple option, you usually beat these teams. Welcome to the Collins era.

Never forget… These are the Gamecocks Cousins…. Different level of ‘stupid’ in that state. Almost as bad as Tennessee

I read that dumbass TigerNet post. That’s even dumber than the Dawg fans who picked Clemson to beat the Dawgs.

My favorite response was the one that said “that brutal SEC schedule”. Clemsons strength of schedule gets decidedly weaker from here on.

When the game clock hit 0:00 in Charlotte last night, I had a nice, warm feeling. Then I checked the other scores, saw that Tech had lost in excruciating fashion to a truly terrible opponent and sighed with pleasure that life was oh, so good.

As a Kennesaw State alum, I’m am really glad I picked up cheap lower level seats to the game next Saturday. I’m really going to enjoy watching our CPJ protege run the triple option down their throats. I’m not saying the Owls win, but they’re going to make life hell for the gnats and that’s enough. Just too bad our best linebacker transferred to the 2017 national champs. 😉

    • I love stingtalk. “I don’t recall an opposing coach call out the opponent’s toughness at halftime before, and then follow it up after the game. That a coach from a lower level conference would do that is just stunning – and as it turns out accurate. NIU really expected to win and they didn’t beat anyone last year. A winless team talking serious smack and backing it up. Words just fail to describe this.“

    “He didn’t go into detail…”
    “He emphasized…”

/Hmmm. He must have threaded one hell of a needle in that Walmart checkout line.

Stingtalk is the best college football forum/website, whatever other than this one. Does anyone have a Georgia Tech email address so I can become a member? I want to go there and post sincerely about Paul Johnson or hell even Chan Gailey and see who all I can rile up.

Clemson is screwed, as their schedule, per usual, is embarrassingly weak. They play exactly zero ranked teams here on out, so they really have nothing to build their resume on. With that said, Clemson is flawed enough that they could stumble once more anyway, as their OL is a weakness and they don’t have a running game. They also don’t have the game breaking receivers they’ve had in the past either.

As for GT, well, at this point they are like uncle Rico – a middle-aged laughing stock who continues to hang their hat on fleeting achievements from many decades prior.

  13. I think I’m somewhat sobering up this a.m….it’s been a fun 2 days…God bless these Dawgs…our defense was a thing of beauty to watch…that type of dominance and pressure was amazing.

    Oh, and Tuck Fech
