Just when you think you’ve seen everything…

Southern Cal’s kicker gets ejected for targeting on the first play of the game.

USC would go on to get blasted by Stanford, so the Clay Helton death watch is back on again.

There must have been a girl in the stands he was really trying to impress.

The returner told him he was wearing sissy yellow pants.

  3. Clay Helton is plague upon SC. Can’t win anything that matters, but won’t run it into a ditch

Opening kickoff what a way to start a game. I love college football on Saturdays.

In one weekend the cat drop rescue, jax st last play, Stetson going unconscious and a kicker called for targeting. I love college football.

I forgot watching a 340lb (allegedly) man run down a 200 lb QB on the sideline. That was the best play I saw yesterday.

And there were many other more egregious targeting shots that were never called yesterday. They need to fix the penalty.

Apparently they could have used him. Stanford beat them 42-28. LOL! Same Stanford team that lost 24-7 to Kansas State.

I love it. They should exempt kickers from the targeting rule. I mean, they’re not going to hurt anybody. ( I know, they can hurt themselves)

It seems that as long as USC is around Texas is safe from being the most underperforming college football team.

I think ejection on the first call is a little extreme.
A fifteen yard penalty is punishment enough…
No player is spearing on purpose.. they just get caught up in the competition of the moment. Fifteen yards hurts. That’s enough.

The way I’m understanding the 2021 version of Targeting is if the tackler lowers his helmet during the tackle it is targeting, helpless target or not. It got so bad during the Old Miss game last week that they ejected 2 players from each team. Lane even made a comment that they would have to reteach their guys how to tackle especially if they ever have B1G officials.

RangerRuss and I had this conversation last night. If the ball carrier lowers his head he gets what he gets. No targeting. Spearing a defenseless player? Targeting.
