This isn’t going to happen, but… ah, hell, it’s just nuts (h/t SBNation).
Does kinda kick a hole in that “it’s what’s on the front of the jersey, not the back” stuff, though.

A&M regent Jim Schwertner said he's dead serious about wanting Kyle named: Kyle Field: The House that Johnny Built.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
They just need a video board at every gate and ticketing point that has a .gif of Johnny and his money fingers on repeat.

Does this mean A&M’s opponents will be going to The John?

So some idiot regent saying something stupid proves that, huh? Good to know.

Sounds like you’re skeptical. So, are you scratching your head at how TAMU’s revenues surged last year? Seems like a no-brainer to most of us.

I appreciate that you’re focused on the “some idiot” part of that. Me, I find the regent part more significant.

I think they exist in every crowd/group. Seems like they are opening their mouth more and proving it these days though (and surprisingly finding strong support for stupidity in most cases.) Darwin may have been wrong about only the strongest surviving based on current events. I continue to respect A&M and their traditions despite this clown and the indulgence of Johnny Cash but it may indicate they have been studying Auburn.

“Because of a young man by the name of Johnny Manziel, we were able to raise all of the money (to expand the stadium) in two months.”
Johnny has files to trademark the phrase “The house that Johnny built”. Something he likely would be prohibited from pursuing if still playing for aTm.
You can connect your own dots.

Renaming Sanford Stadium “The House that Herschel Built” would be asinine. So that should tell you how I feel about this.

I wouldn’t be in favor of renaming the field, either. However, I can recognize that Herschel contributed more to the fortunes of UGA football, and those making their living off of it, than Danny Ware, or Thomas Brown, or Verron Haynes did.

To be clear, I chose Herschel to make the point precisely because he was a historically great player – much, much more so than JFF. I just think renaming a field for any one player is, well, asinine.

Living here in the heart of Texas I can tell you that most of my Aggie friends will tell you Johnny was fun to watch but he is a royal ahole that they find embarrassing to the traditions of this tradition rich program.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. The Aggie fans I have mixed with were very classy and had “old-style SEC” reverence for traditions.
