Never get married during football season.

Unfortunately for his fiancée, Jeremy Pruitt’s football season is year round.

There won’t be any honeymoon, he said, since “we’ve got to get ready for football season.”

Asked whether that was a tough sell for his bride-to-be, Pruitt smirked.

“She knows what pays the bills,” said Pruitt, who earlier this year signed a three-year contract that pays him $850,000 annually.

That’s dedication.  Or devotion.  Take your pick.

I may be mistaken but I kinda thought every July, the coaches take a cruise together. They could slip a lil hanky- panky- get- their- freak- on- honeymoon action there.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Jeremy Pruitt calls it the best time of his life.As a young boy in Rainsville, Ala., he could often be found on a football field, watching his father, Dale Pruitt, a longtime coach at Plainview High. Pruitt was always observing, noting the way his dad meticulously cared for his program.”I was never with the babysitter, I went with my dad,” Jeremy Pruitt said. “He’s lining off the fields, he’s mowing the grass, I’m hanging around the field house.”
    Some things do not change.

….somehow I think he will make it up to her.

Had a friend I worked with, A Penn St. Fan from Jersy to boot. He got engaged and quickly set a date during the fall. Saw him the evening of his wedding day, and he was mad that I, and a bunch of others he worked with didn’t show at the wedding. I told him ” You don’t schedule a wedding in these parts on a Dawgs vs. Gators saturday.” He asked, ” My wedding isn’t more important than a football game?” I answered, “No, not that one. GO DAWGS!!”

Exactly, a problem you can expect when you have Yankee friends….not the smartest crowd of folks, ever notice how many blue states there are in that area? But I had that happen with my best friend from college when his daughter chose to get married on GA/FU weekend because Ole Miss, her alma mater, had an open date. She was raised in Georgia and knew better. I figured it meant she didn’t care if I were there anyway because that is just inconsiderate.

But if he had something big to him two weeks from now when my daughter is getting married, I wouldn’t mind…I mean it’s his and my daughters, not us. My daughter would never have even asked about a fall date anyway; she thinks I should attend. We don’t mind being behind on the updates of weightlifting during the summer.

If he really wanted you to come to his wedding, he would have scheduled it for the off-season. That’s on him. 🙂

My uncle once had a patient who’s daughter wanted a fall wedding. He told her unless she was getting married on the Sanford Stadium 50 yard line or on the off week, it had better not be on a Saturday or she could find some one else to pay for it and give her away. That;s a hell of a Dawg.
