Your daily dose of Dawg porn

From Gentry Estes’ list of incoming Georgia players who will make a real impact this season comes this bit about Charlie Hegedus:

The N.C. State transfer was reportedly cleared to play immediately because of an NCAA hardship waiver. A former star in combine settings, Hegedus has reportedly been impressive — and very fast — in summer workouts. [Emphasis added.]  Plus, he’s got a history with QB Hutson Mason. This has the makings of a real success story with Hegedus at UGA, and it would be a surprise if he’s not an impact player at some point soon.

Sounds like Coach Ball’s got something to work with there.

  1. Not holding my breath that an NC State cast-off will dominate the SEC. Cannot wait to be wrong.

Receivers are like money, having too much is a whole lot better than not enough.

In Seth’s summary of the updated roster/weights etc., he said this guy was a candidate to redshirt, so this is surprising, but the good kind of course

If anyone can coach ’em up it’s Coach Ball. The man is brilliant…

Way to call the Pinko out, AusDawg. The article he referenced concerning the suicidal squirrel was especially suspect.

After what I personally considered to be a sterling intelligence career during mop up operations after the French losing Indochina kerfluffle, I tried to join the CIA but their so-called HR experts felt that I just didn’t have the right cut of jibe to meet their teamwork requirements. Long story short, I ended up doing some freelance work with Bullwinkle and the rodent and if there’s one thing I can tell you, it’s that’s you never want to let either one of those knuckleheads get their noses inside Natasha’s or anyone else’s tent. I tried to get them to use this as my theme song but they balked and told me, “Who do you think you are? Nick Saban?” At the time I had no idea what that meant but I do now. I mean, Kent State, who would have thought a high-income bracket earner could have come out of that secondary…

TB’s going to have his work cut out for him with Langley too.
“He’s got athleticism, speed and made explosive plays with the ball in his hands in high school.”
the man had a pretty good view on some explosive offensive plays last year too.

This, piled on top of inside views of FU, is beginning to start the main course. I’ll pretend it’s an Italian feast with at least five more entries to the main course. Otherwise, yall have me peaking very early and that ain’t good for placing bets based on emotion.

Like sex, the worst info on this blog is wonderfully satisfying.

Here is another long ball threat….
6-2 210, clocked at 4.42 & 4.44, won his 5A regional in 100 sprint, fastest guy on NC States team. Benches 225 16 times. Speed is more at the top end than acceleration, blows past DB’s on a post pattern. Great hands. Not great moves after the pass, but gets open and doesn’t drop catches.
Nice to see someone transferring in to Georgia.

  9. FWIW, I think Hegedus will help us. It’s just a matter of how long it takes him to get comfortable in our system, which usually takes a while. I suspect he could be ready sometime this year if we need him.

The other thing is his routes, how good of a route-runner he is. If he doesn’t have good burst, his routes will have to be outstanding. Ball can get him there, but if he doesn’t already have that, it might not be this year.

Great to have him between the hedeges. Ball will coach him up, and we’ll need receivers in 2015 for sure.

If I remember right he was at NC State because they had a pro style offense. Wolf pack had now gone to the spread. Can play right away if needed because a close family member is very sick and UGA is closer.
