The greatest trick Nick Saban ever pulled…

… was convincing the world that Alabama didn’t need a great quarterback – or even an experienced one – to exist as a national powerhouse.

Great piece of work, Matt. Would that Georgia would produce more game managers.

Hell, we haven’t needed a game manager in ten years. Our defense has been so porous that we’ve needed a gunslinger who can put it all over the field and score points when we need them. I’d love the need for a “game manager”, but when you need your offense to bail out your defense, we’ve had one of the best the past few years.

“We do look the same, we do have similar stature, we do have similar styles,” says McElroy, who has signed up for an on-air role this fall with ESPN’s new SEC Network. “If you lined us up and put a bag over our heads, you wouldn’t be able to tell us apart.”

Nick, on the other hand, would be distinguishable even with a bag over his head

The Old Ball Sack said it best, Nick should have the best team since he gets the best players year after year.

If A J McCarron is the test, then no, Alabama does not need a great QB to be a national powerhouse

  5. I don’t care who they have at QB…I am looking forward to at least a few screaming matches between Kiffin and Saban. Oh how I can’t wait to watch this train wreck unfold. Sadly–as mentioned above, the D is bound to make Kiffin look successful. He is overdue for some love–am I right UT fans?
