“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23

I hope someone is tracking every player down. It is ridiculously easy to find this stuff out.
This would be a good time to blow this rule up.

+1. A Federal Court already has ruled in a related matter (video images) that the NCAA cannot prevent players from being paid for their images. That is on appeal and will likely be affirmed. Whatever restriction on video images the NCAA has will have to be eliminated. There is pending a case that essentially seeks the elimination of similar restrictions on autographs and other such “stuff.” If it now comes out that the rule is being universally ignored and almost every player of notoriety is doing this with impunity, the NCAA just needs to eliminate the rule altogether. It will be court-mandated to get rid of it soon anyway. For once, get out front of something NCAA.

BJ Honeycutt (the football play by play guyand former college and NFL player) made a comment that I think is quite revealing. He asked, in light of the ruling in the O’Bannon case, how can the NCAA even seriously try to enforce bans on college athletes getting paid for signing autographs? An apt question.

Matty Mauk had a bunch of autographed items out there too…
What do you bet Gurley is the only one that will have to fall on his sword for this during the season?

Anyone out there try to find any such autographed merchandise signed by Nick Marshall? I’m betting there is a load of that stuff, too.

Why would anyone thing that another player from a different school would be punished for such an act? Our beloved athletic department has shown time and time again that they punish at the drop of a hat to prove their moral virtues. It is high time for the University of Georgia to remove itself from the SEC and stop pretending. Shed that wolf in sheeps clothing and move to the Patriot or Ivy League. It is time for this university of associate itself with like kind. This high moral institution belongs with the Yale’s, Cornell’s and Brown’s of the world. Yet the almighty dollar is simply to great to forgo.

Because of the white hot light Gurley’s name brings to this matter. And because of the stature of Gurley’s attorney. Wouldn’t it be delicious if the ensuing look into Dickhead Allen’s background, which is going to look like a colonoscopy, reveals he also paid the entire starting DL of the Gators?

The NCAA won’t act on it. UGA only did so because they were forced to by this clown emailing all the media outlets. The NCAA probably wants this to all go away. They’ve known about this underbelly for a while. IMO, they showed their hand in the Johnny Football case. “Just don’t let us know or be able to see any money changing hands and all is good.” The product they sell would be greatly diminished if they came against pay for signing autographs too hard.

So, email the media outlets.

NOTHING will stick to Jameis Winston. EVER. The frigging moron is bulletproof, I swear. With that being said, I hope this whole mess blows up THIS WEEK and that Gurley is back for Arkansas. We have the O’ Bannon ruling and public sentiment is swelling. Burn the whole thing down, PLEASE!

Nope. They are going to get him now. The government and accreditation agencies are all over FSU. The administration at FSU is now orried that they may lose accreditation. Bend over Jameis, you’re gonna find out what rape feels like.

Florida State seems pretty good at coverups, per the NY Times article yesterday — look at how long it took to prosecute a guy for a blatant theft of a scooter

I’m shocked this guy didn’t include Winston in his email. Maybe he was waiting until it got closer to the FSU game.

Gurley will be the only player suspended for this. And we’ll wait around for the NCAA to get their thumbs out of their asses to make a statement, oh, around January.
