First Dawgrade sighting

Interestingly enough, from an article looking down the road at Missouri’s schedule:

Four of the next five opponents looked far more vulnerable this weekend: Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M were outscored collectively 134-6 by LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama. Arkansas, the one remaining opponent Mizzou hasn’t played in SEC action, got thumped by Georgia.  [Emphasis added.]

But they wuz due!

I heard another one on College Football Final yesterday. Holtz was attempting to give us some love and said “that was the same team that played Alabama close last week.” Rece Davis quickly chirped back with “No it wasn’t.” Huh?

I’ll cut him a little slack. He’s just going for dramatic effect. 134-6 sounds better than 179-38.

So did Mizzou. What’s the point, here?

Jeepers. When I saw that it threw me for a loop, and had to hurry and dig up Mizzou’s schedule.

They still have Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Tennessee left, and THEN Arkansas. Outside of Vandy, none of those games are easy, nor can they be a presumed win.

Those are tough SEC games. Running that table is no piece of cake.

+1 And that’s @ Texas A&M and @ Tennessee, no easy venues. Given their home record, losses to UGA & Indiana – Kentucky & Arky present considerable challenges. And Arky may STILL be due!

Let’s not forget this is also a Missouri team who has done anything but set the world on fire so far. Although they beat Florida, their offense looked anemic, they lost to Indiana at home and Looked horrible against us. This is a team who really hasn’t done much of anything except a late fourth-quarter comeback against a week South Carolina team in order to squeak by them. We may not win the SEC East, but with the exception of Vanderbilt none of these remaining games are easy for a team that’s playing like Missouri has been the season.

Yep. I still think they’re going to get somebody. Right now, LSU and Mizzou look like the most likely candidates. But IMHO, they could get one of the Mississippi teams, too.

I think our game probably gave them confidence. Bert said they would not be the same in the 4th and they were not. Yes, we went conservative, but they were able to make a game of it. Hopefully they use that confidence to beat Mizzou and ensure us the East.

I don’t see Missouri running the table. As everyone has seen only twice in the last decade have teams been held to less than 120 yards of offense and won…both times against Florida under Boom. And lest anyone forget Mizzou hit for the football equivalent of the cycle in non-offensive scoring. Mauk is only slightly less dreadful than Jeff Driskel.

I think the article means since they joined the SEC, no?

Pffft! Anyone who thinks Mizzou is going to run the table with this team, and that schedule is smoking some bad crap. I will be happy to take Arky and give odds against Mizzou, or take A&M and even TN straight up. Might do the same on KY. Good chance they lose three of those four.
