If you haven’t read Chris Conley’s remarkable farewell letter, take a minute to do so. After all, he wrote it to you.
I’m done giving my inspirational pep talk now. So, if you see me around Athens, Atlanta or anywhere else, don’t be afraid to reach out and speak with me. I hope to continue to be active in these communities because they are where I call home. In my brief time in Athens, I hope I have inspired someone to chase his dreams, to work a little harder or dream a little bigger. If my example has reached just one person and encouraged him to be better, I have accomplished so much more than I deserve.
Calling him a Damn Good Dawg almost doesn’t do him justice.

I love that kid.

I hope he doesn’t get drafted by the Saints or the Patriots, because I’m going to have to root for whichever NFL team gets this kid.
He really is a credit to the team and the school

He has raised the DGD bar. Can we retire his number?

If Arthur Blank doesn’t find a way to draft him, shame on the Falcons’ organization. A metro Atlanta kid who played at UGA who considers Atlanta as home … what better story than that? If the Falcons draft a receiver with Conley still on the board, I will officially be done with them.

With his 40 time, there is a chance he could go first or second round, there is no chance the Falcons can spend a first or second on a WR.

James, that’s my point. If Conley is on the board when the Falcons select their first wide receiver and don’t select him, I’m done with them. If he’s already off the board and they decide to go WR, fine.

Ah, I could live with that, I hope he is still around for the 4th or 5th round pick. At that point I could see Atlanta taking him, he is a high character guy, which arthur likes.
But Atlanta is going to lose a draft pick from the artificial noise. And their first 2 picks need to be defense period.

Wait a sec, the Falcons are going to lose a draft pick and the Patriots aren’t? I guess the NFL believes that nonsense about some equipment guy randomly screwing with the game balls on his own initiative? Jesus.

Conley just turned the DGD meter up to 11.

Why didn’t he just make 10 louder?

Jim Rome had him on yesterday. It was a great interview and Rome loved him. They talked more about the Star Wars movie than anything else. Somebody in the NFL is going to get a great guy.

Guys like Conley could clean up the NFL if there were enough of them.

Jim Rome is actually capable of having legitimate interviews?!

A coworkers son played with him in HS and when he signed with UGA he told me we were getting a good one. His words were “you don’t have to worry about him getting into trouble because his Mom would kill him and he is smart enough to go there on a full academic scholarship”. I’d say we did get a good one, thanks #31 for all that you have contributed and best wishes for the future.

A piddling few when compared to those he will garner in his lifetime.

Prepare yourself for twenty years, Chris, and then do your nation a great service by taking up residence in the White House. God knows we need your voice and example in public life. And the thought of a Georgia Bulldog as POTUS is rather enticing.

He is a young man with a wonderful mind. We don’t get to see that very often in our lives. While we think in differing terms what “going far” means, it is easy to predict he will take a differing path that most of us could never contemplate.
He brings great credit to our University with his thoughtfulness and letting us know that part of his emotions and heart are left behind is his signature. We won’t miss him because he has invited those of us who wish, to travel with him.

Seems like just yesterday he was plucking the ball out of the air for the first down that sealed the Florida game and Amarlo drilled the running back earlier which almost resulted in a safety.
Lots of DGDS in the outgoing senior class

My first memory of him as a DGD.
After the 2012 game my wife and I took our time leaving the stadium, and as we walked around the back, by where the players went out to the buses, we saw #31 greet his family. It warms your heart to see these warriors have emotional moments like that.

I took my kids to the fan day with Greene and Stinchcomb and got the opportunity to meet a lot of current and former Dawgs, including Conley. He had just returned from SEC Media Days in Bham, so I wasn’t expecting him to be there, but he was. He was among the first to arrive and was the last player to leave. He and Herrera were gracious and humble with everyone they interacted with, especially the kids. I made a point to my boys to recognize how special these two young men are. There were a lot of current players who weren’t there, but Conley and Herrera represented the team and UGA with the highest degree of class.
Best of luck to y’all going forward.
Go Dawgs!!!

“I know you take a great deal of heat for many things, but I am thankful for the coach that you are and even more so for the man that you are. You are a true builder of men and a damn good football coach.”
A “reality” that totally escapes about 15% of the crowd around here.
