David Wunderlich breaks it down and finds it’s the SEC’s toughest.
The Worst: Georgia
The Bulldogs wound up with Alabama and Auburn, a pair of teams that will appear in far more preseason top tens than they won’t. AU is getting some early buzz as a playoff contender, and Bama, whatever its present deficiencies, has hauled in several consecutive No. 1 recruiting classes.
Unless I’m massively wrong about something somewhere—which is always possible—UGA stands alone with the toughest cross-division schedule.
And that could be bad news in the bigger picture.
The Takeaways
The cross-division scheduling could end up deciding the East division. If you take it, as I currently do, as it being a two-horse race between Georgia and Missouri, Mizzou drawing Mississippi State while UGA gets Bama and Auburn is a big advantage for the Tigers. If Missouri beats MSU while Georgia goes 0-2 against the West, UGA would have to sweep its East games to be assured of a berth to Atlanta regardless of what Mizzou does. If the Tigers beat the West Bulldogs and win the tiebreaker over the East Bulldogs, it’ll be incredibly tough for Georgia to win the division.
That being said, and taking nothing away from what should be a salty Auburn squad, it’s not as if Georgia has struggled mightily with the Plainsmen of late. Cam Newton overpowered the Dawgs and then there’s the game with the play of which we shall speak no further. But other than those, Georgia has pretty much controlled the series over the past few years.
Right now, put me down for Georgia going no worse than 1-1 against the West in 2015.
Send this cross division scheduling analysis to the Old Ball Sack. He’s always bitchin’ about how tough he has it and how easy everyone else has it.

If we get good QB play, we will smash the Tigers at Sanford South. Alabama is a completely different animal. We will need to play our best game of the year to beat the Tide.

I want so badly for us to black out against Alabama if beating them seems doable in the weeks leading up to the game. I realize how badly many of you will hate that idea, but I hate that we let them (and Florida to a lesser extent) shame us out of wearing a fantastic uniform. This Alabama game has been circled and circled again after expansion in my calendar since that day.

I loved the black jerseys, but losing to bama again in black jerseys would go down prominently in SEC football history in an embarrassing way. I don’t know if the risk is worth the reward. I think I’d prefer to see the fans and media outlets calling for a fan blackout, all the while evil Richt says it’s not happening team-wise right up until game time (when he then can option to pull something out to get the team jacked right before they take the field).

Don’t think we even have the black jerseys any more. They put a bunch of them on sale in the bookstore several years ago.

Of course we don’t have black jerseys at UGA ….Nick Marshall stole them all . I like driving in my truck Auburn suxs.

No, no, a thousand times no. IF we do a blackout it would need to be a total secret – do not tell the fans, the media or even the players until game day. Otherwise do not under any circumstances do it for that game.

Sorry Pansy, but that is “fake juice.” We already have the best looking home unis on the planet, so why screw with that?

We need to sweep the East then see where the chips are falling in late November.

I have said before, (and don’t get me wrong, we look awesome in red hat/black jersey). If we are going to do the black jersey thing – do it at the last home game every year. 1) its senior day (good enough reason to do it right there, no more reasons needed), 2) it will either be an SEC game or tech.

I just hope we sweep Oct 10.

1-1 sounds about right. 2-0 would just be gravy…

No one seems to mention that AU has lost their last FOUR (4) games. Still GM is the genius on the plains.

Georgia’s won 9 of the last 13 against Auburn with 6 of those wins coming by 19 points or more (19 in 2003, 22 in 2006, 25 in 2007, 38 in 2011, 38 in 2012, and 27 last year). When your Georgia, those kind of trends make the pundits pencil you in a L.

The whole conceited sell your soul to pay for wins auburn damn plain war tigger nation can kiss my ass. And furthermore, those Georgia residents who go to school there and then move back and talk smack about their in state universities can go to hell. Also, I’m pretty sure that auburn mailbox my neighbor has is federally offensive. If anyone needs more education in this matter, kindly communicate the request to me and I will tell them where to go for clarification.
