Think how you’d feel right now if Georgia had lost.

Glad we won but still another embarrassing game.
Steve, will Pruitt ever get a W against a top 50 scoring offense this year? No. But boy he beats up on those like 122 ranked scoring offense Mizz.
SSDD, tell TB we said hello
Feels like we lost either way. Dread UF game so much, committed to drive up to Hiawassee to clean the gutters on my mother-in-laws house that afternoon.
Better wait until after all the leaves are off the trees..late November or even later…or do it twice.
Not embarrassing for us in the stadium.
It was a great day.
It is never embarrassing to win.
Lol. Good point. Luckily, they’ve got a week off before Florida cuts the head off this mess. My angst needs a week off.
Ugly wins > pretty losses
Ugly win > pretty losses > what UF is going to do to us… Again.
Somehow, we still have a lot of the necessary pieces, if somebody could figure out how to put them together. Monster game for Malcolm Mitchell. Nothing ugly about that.
The defense came to play, and we had some punt return yards. Sony and Malcolm are DGDs.
We really struggle with scoring this year. It’s such a departure from the last few years (and the S Car. game).
The defense has played well against all the scoring offense ranked 100 or worse.
In other words, everyone but TN & Bama. Gave up 38 points a game vs those 2.
Defense didn’t give up 38 to Bama. Defense gave up 24 to Bama. Offense and Punt team gave up 14.
And TAMU’s D only gave up 20 points yesterday to Bama. The Aggie offense gave up more points to Bama than the D did.
Dumpster fire of a game. Unimaginative play calling. Lambert tries, but just doesn’t have it. Frustration in receiving corp and backs is evident. And everyone always wanted to blame Bobo. I wish we had him back….
Damn that Lambert, he only completed 70%.
Hey there, TB.
Yep, GL was 23-32 for 178 yards. He’s no Hutson Mason, that’s for sure
You obviously watched a different game than I because the Lambert I saw threw one int, which isn’t awful, but should have thrown another 4 given his accuracy to the wrong team. He might be a good kid but he’s a poor qb.
if Missouri DBs could catch, that percentage would even be higher..are you the same guy who is “blown away” by our QB?
My, I just don’t know why we didn’t start Ramsey and let him play the entire game.. we would’ve had a decent shot of breaking a UGA record in the first half.. Quincy’s 5 in record, that is.. ; )
Turns out our offense can only execute five plays.
Our O plays like a bottom tier NFL team who used their first pick in the draft on an average college QB after he hoodwinked them in workouts.
Schotty’s been extremely ineffective. Maybe he’ll improve next year as the players learn more of his system. But right now, it doesn’t seem like they can do much.
Bad offense+mediocre defense=bad season.
Our best bet for a title is looking like when these freshmen are juniors and seniors. 2017 2018, Dawgs on Top
Was our D good or Mizzou’s offense that bad ? Special teams didn’t suck quite as bad as usual. We’ll see how the reptiles react to losing a tough one.
Combination of pretty good D vs an offense that was a little inept, but the D helped with that ineptitude…in the second half we had four freshman playing on defense…bodes well down the road…in a couple of years.
That Mizzou offense is more than a little inept…this is the 3rd game out of 7 where they didn’t score a TD (beat UConn 9-6, scored 3 vs UF and 6 against us)…and they only managed 13 against UK. You really can’t judge whether or not our D made a step forward or not considering the caliber of the competition.
We played not to lose and it worked out this time.
And it would have only scored three, but the deflection INT to our 1.
Mizzou was just bad, they’re ranked 122 in scoring.
Everytime this year Pruitt has choked against a top 50 scoring offense, say Bama or Tenn.
Oh look, a shaky Georgia controls its own destiny and the next game is a must win against a stout SEC opponent. Which of course means yet another inevitable, embarrassing, soul-crushing slaughter. At least this time, years of what’s about to happen have extinguished any hope among the fans.
Until (and unless) UT loses to Bama, UGA does not control its own destiny. Does anyone want to delve into the 3-way tiebreaker mess yet?
The fans and students stayed. The crowd was in the game. It was a great show by our D.
Definitely a good recruitin atmosphere.
yep, wish we could play 122 ranked offenses every week The defense pout on a show.
Heard you the first three times thanks for the posative reinforcement now go away.
Honestly I don’t think I’d feel much different, Senator. Thank goodness for Malcolm Mitchell. No Malcolm no win.
This season could be the worst showing in Richt’s career at Georgia. That is an unbelievably uninspired offense. Lambert is an absolute shit show and our o-line is horrendous. I feel for Mitchell and Michel.
The D finally came around, I’ll give them that. Thank god for Ganus.
I’m with you. Mistake-filled, poorly-played wins over terrible teams do not really feel any better (except when you know the team is just sandbagging/playing down to the opponent, then it’s just a poor effort). When you know the team is just as bad as its terrible opponent, it all feels like losses.
I think that Terry Godwin had a more of an impact thanot malcom Mitchell did. My biggest question was why Marshall only tallied 5 carries whilst Douglas got 9. Don’t get me wrong, Douglas ran hard and at the end the D started olaying him, but some of the holes being opened up by our OL closed so quickly that a faster back would have gotten more yards or possibly broke one.
Also, on the post game show they mentioned that Michel wasn’t feeling well which is why he didn’t play as much early on in the game.
My biggest concern is on Schotty. When we run zone stretch plays with a QB that is NO THREAT to keep the ball the defenses can run to flow. Teams don’t even honor bootlegs on us. Furthermore, we have yet to run a reverse, misdirection or counter play this year… in other words the defense is sitting on our plays. I’m sorry but that is just stupid. I’m not sure how he stayed in the NFL as long as he did. Save one magical night by a less than mediocre QB vs. a beleaguered, tired and apathetic Spurrier coached team our offense has been abysmal.
Our O looks so vanilla, one would think CMR was calling the plays again;-)
Amen. Dawgs lose that one 9-6 and the ugliness would be atomic
Brian Schottensheimersonison is a totally and complete waste of resources.
I can cite data and lots of situations. But anyone who watched that game or has seen mizz play or knows anything about football should know he’s pathetic
3rd and 12 and he runs Douglass outside. Fire him.
He had a qb dying to lose the game. He didn’t let it happen. The offense is bad bc lambert is bad. Terrible. Atrocious.
Amen brother. That was the dumbest shit play with the absolute worst player for that play. Brendan Douglas is not a 3rd and 12 kind of running back. Must have been some reverse psychology on Schottys part wink wink
I texted my brother right after that happened. 2nd and long Marshall up the middle, 3rd and long Douglas on a speed sweep. WTF
I hope that Coach Richt has either Ramsey or Bauta taking first team reps these next 2 weeks! Lambert has lost it! Wandering why The Crowder is not seeing any time, he is a big running back that we need to pound the ball with! Other backs need a break because not big enough to carry the whole load against these good defenses ie. Florida, Mizzu, Alabama!
Just a guess, but they may be trying to save him. Or maybe he doesn’t like to block.
Bauta needs to concentrate on his FG holding.
I get the sense some folks would’ve preferred Michigan’s fate than what the Dawgs got.
Does it come w/ Harbaugh?
Well played Q
We simply do not have a SEC type quarterback. So any victory at this point is good.
I’m still having trouble accepting the fact that GL is the best QB on the roster. Say it ain’t so.
“The Tigers showed why they lead the SEC in pass defense and scoring defense. They had allowed an average of only 13.5 points per game before frustrating quarterback Greyson Lambert and the Bulldogs. Lambert’s first pass was intercepted.”
Lambert may suck, but apparently he’s the best we have. If that’s the case then we’re lucky to have him. Imagine what it would be like starting someone worse.
And as long as people keep saying it I’ll keep replying. YOU CANNOT CONTROL DESTINY!!!!
Hell, we have trouble controlling the line of scrimmage.
Nor can you PETITION THE LORD FOR PRAYER … and they may be required before long.
And you’re welcome to keep replying, but your replies are only relevant if people mean for the expression “control destiny” to be interpreted literally. But pretty clearly, they do not. To say that a team controls its own destiny is just to say that it does not need any “help” — in the form of losses — from other teams.
But of course, all of this will be moot in two weeks.
Well I’ll still take the Barners beating Canucks and LSU defeating the gators. Lol.
Caps lock key stuck, you a-hole?
Destiny CAN be controlled.
You have to get all her crystal and blow and tell her she gets a bump each time she dances on the center stage or the VIP section AND she has to bring back her tips BEFORE she gets the bump.
That Destiny’s a wily one.
That must explain why Ramsey has been such a dunce when it comes to the QB position.. It must be “his” ..Destiny?
What are you, a Presbyterian minister?
“You people” ? Lol!
Calm down Shortpants. I’m sure it’s just a saying —not literally challenging some “predetermined fate”. If you believe in that sort of thing why play the game?
We certainly can influence how the rest of our season goes by keeping our heads up and working hard.
Can you fucking read asshole? I said “people” not “you people. I haven’t heard from your butterfly ass all season, you been on the flats?
Always nice to read your responses Shortpants. Your doing well I hope?
“butterfly ass”…now that’s an interesting concept…Illini, what in the world does that mean…seriously, I’d love to use it sometime.
Butterfly Ass- “An extremely well-defined male posterior that resembles butterfly wings.”
IDK. Maybe Shortpants is that redhead that sits behind me during home games.
Could be Homes…hell I just watched a replay of the Miracle on Duval Street, for those who believe, all things are possible.
Tru dat Senator. I’ve always said I’d rather win ugly than lose pretty….tonight really tested that theory.
Good news and better news. Dawgs win and I took Mizzou and the points. Errybody gets a trophy!
I can see why Lambert lost his job at UVA. UVA! The D looked tough, especially against the run, but Mizzous O is as bad as ours. Douglass ran hard as did Michel. And Terry Godwin is a baller and a budding star! Lambert is awful.
I’m really glad we won. Any win from here on out is a gift. Only the Richt haters are not happy about the win. I don’t feel good about the win because I’m not seeing any growth in the offense…at all. For the life of me I cannot figure out how in the world we got in the quarterback situation. It is really disturbing. But hey, I’m glad I’m a Georgia Bulldog instead of a Michigan Wolverine tonight. Those fans must be jumping off cliffs or catatonic from shock right now.
I don’t understand why some of the posters here feel the need to be so negative and nasty and making attacks personal. Just not necessary. Go take a Xanax and a shot of Tequila and chill out.
I’m sure Michigan fans aren’t happy, but that team went toe to toe with MSU and was a bad decision by a punter away from smoking a hated rival. They’re growing and have a coach that goes for the throat. They’re not going to be mired in mediocrity for long and they know it. Georgia on the other hand won a game they probably should have lost and left with more questions than answers. I’d take UM’s future with Harbaugh over our future with Richt every day and twice on Sunday.
Hard to argue with that. I agree with the growth part though, it’s just not happening for us. Another thing that bothers me is that we have no depth, we never seem to have any depth. It’s like our teams are like a house of cards if one falters the whole house comes tumbling down.
Mama, the offense lost one of the best running backs in the country, a kid who would have broken most, if not all of EVEN HIS rushing records, that tends to put a crimp in yer gitalong…ya know?
Basically the offense had to start all over again like a fall camp, and we are still short of receivers (and they are short, too) but we’re banging away at it.
And unlike some our fans, there is no quit in this bunch of kids.
I was going to say something about Flurda, but nah…I’m taking the bye week.
You’re right Scorpio, I think most of the team plays with a lot of heart. I know losing Chubb was a huge thing and I believe let the air out of the balloon in TN. My problem is, OSU won a ‘ship with their 3rd string QB. We don’t or won’t even let ours have a shot. Whatever the coaches are seeing on the practice field with Lambert is not translating into success on game day. So why not let the others at least have a chance to prove themselves? Lambert has had 6 games now, and with the exception of one game, has been anemic, and that’s putting it mildly.
The O-line is just, well, awful and overrated. Morgan is mediocre at best. I don’t know, writing about how bad our offense has given me a headache and I need coffee.
As for Florida, I’ll be watching, and rooting, and hoping, as always.
How many more int’s does Ramsey have to throw before you label him awful, as well? I’m in agreement to give Bauta a shot, but I’ve seen enough of Brice’s decision making to agree with the coaches that Lambert is at least better than him.
I’m sure you also took Muschamp and Malzahn future as well.
When will people learn. The shit ain’t linear. Harbaug and McElwain may have already peaked, just like the aforementioned.
It’s possible for McElwain. Not likely, but possible. Harbaugh built Stanford into a power from nothing and took San Francisco to two NFC title games and a Super Bowl in four years.
And completely lost the locker room in SF and is a complete weirdo in social situations. He may be a fantaistic football mind, but that doesn’t mean he’d succeed as our coach.
FTR, I don’t like Harbaugj because he was the QB when the Colts knocked a top-seeded Chiefs team out of the playoffs.
You’re holding a grudge against Harbaugh from 1995?
I didn’t take Boom or Gus. Harbaugh won big in the NFL as a HC and not as a coordinator. Let’s both check back in two years to see if UM has peaked. Lol.
Quarterback? Lambert looked good, didn’t he complete like 70% of his throws? The tip came when an olineman missed the cutblock, also he converted around 50% on 3rd down against the No 2 defense in the conference.
Are you serious. If Mizzou’s D could catch, he would have had at least 5 interceptions. He is terrible. Richt has 2 weeks to get someone else ready for UF.
Ahhhh….the dreaded “if” arguement. Well played sir.
Actually, I can tell you exactly how Michigan fans are feeling right about now. (Full disclosure: I grew up in MI; had family play for Schembechler; follow Michigan football almost as closely as I follow Georgia football.) Obviously, Michigan fans are disappointed in the loss. But considering the context, it’s hard to be too disappointed. Harbaugh has this program way ahead of schedule in terms of general rebuilding, restoring slumping rivalries, returning Michigan to national prominence, etc. The very fact that, after a 5-7 season, Michigan took a top-10-ranked MSU to the last second is remarkable. The general consensus was that it would take Harbaugh a few years to make the UM-OSU game interesting. And it’s already interesting.
Harbaugh, to me, is a bit like Saban. Would I ever want someone with his personality in my life? Probably not. But can he coach the absolute hell out of a football team? Yes. There’s no reason to think that he’s “peaked,” as others suggest (probably the same people who said the same thing about Saban during his Dolphins/early Tide days). And anyone who claims that he leaves jobs after a few years because he pisses everyone off simply doesn’t understand what happened in San Francisco.
So last night was rough for Michigan fans. No doubt. But this morning, there are more smiles among Michigan fans than there are among Georgia fans, that’s for damn sure.
I kinda know how it feels, too.
Meh. That’s so 2013.
To hell with Michigan
Nobody can blame Harbaugh for the disaster yesterday. I normally refrain from bitching about players, cause they’re kids and don’t get paid. But that punter blew that game all on his own. Talk about a player having a complete meltdown.
Wait, really? What don’t we understand about San Francisco, other than Harbaugh is a complete prick who wears out his players and organization after a few years?
You are right. Well coached game on both sides at MI yesterday. Harbaugh will be winning championships while we’re still waiting on the next version of Stafford, Knowshon AJ, Gurley, etc. to be undone by Richt & Company and lead us to another Tangerine Bowl, 10 win season.
I’m a Richt hater and I’m still happy about the win! I don’t understand how people can root against their team because they don’t like a coach, that just seems counter productive too me but whatever.
That being said I think Georgia’s offense is almost as bad as it’s play calling and although the defense came to play last night I think they looked so good because Mizzou is just that bad.
Same here. I did admire the guts of the Dawgs last night. Reminded me of old school Vince, which I loved.
The Defense deserved the fan support in the 4th qtr as weell as the win.
If you don’t appreciate an ugly win, you’ve never been a part of one. Go Dawgs!!! Screw the negativity.
We knew It would be a tough game against a very good defense.
I was just happy for the win & mostly I enjoyed the game. WE GATA.
As far as the ——- Gators, they do have a very good top ten team.
They will be favored & should be. Still I do think we have a chance.
Agree, even a win against the nation’s #122 ranked scoring offense? a win is a win or is it?
Please tell me what has happened to John Theus ? First the procedure penalty, then the hold, along with an absolute septic tank job blocking multiple times. Then when Sale jumps his butt, he throws down his helmet and his gloves and walks away from his chewing, disrespecting his coach. He was awful and he was supposed to be a TEAM leader. Ugh!
Theus has never been what he was billed to be out of high school. He is an average college tackle. He and Houston as just not very good.
Really not too upset at all. Kicking was still a little more of an adventure than it ought to be but most of the rest of special teams was solid. Offense could move, but couldn’t close the sale. The defense saved our asses. They got put in a lot of bad situations and still held. As for Florida, nobody thought they could win last year, so who knows?
\defense saved our asses\ Sarcasm font noted. they sure do look good when they face horrifiic anemic scoring offenses like Vandy, SC, and Mizzou. True dat.
It’s just nice to see that this fella had nothing else to do at 1:30am…
It’s copy and paste for him now
LOL – great title. Of the three games this was by far the most concerning. Tennessee is talented, and Alabama is the best team in the land. Missouri should have won it. Countless dropped picks. I thought we would win this pretty easily as Missouri is not good. Holy crap there O is worse than ours. We are simply not nearly as good as I thought we were this year. QB play is hurting obviously, and Schotty is no Bobo, although it is hard to tell with our QB. Pray for a miracle in Jax….we’re still in it.
Our offense is top 22 in scoring, theirs is 122. Uh, yeah, we’re kind of better than them.
We’re kind of 3 points better.
Defense crushed that Mizzou powerhouse offense.
Damn, Lambert killed the 3rd down meme, I really liked that one.
You’ve made your point. We get it, Mussouri has a bad offense. Thanks for adding nothing to the dialogue.
hey did you know mizzous offense is 122nd in the whole country? woah!
Really? I thought they were just the 122nd ranked offense in only the USA, not the WHOLE country!
Boy I learn something new every time with every Wilson copy and paste!!
We’re 5-2 and play our next game for the SEC East lead. Everyone stop, take a deep breath…..and back away slowly from the ledge.
Yeah, we finally beat a team with a winning record, big win.
You don’t have to post the same comment over and over we read it the first time.
He just got past saying “da-da” over and over for a month. Give him time, he will learn to handle more than one thought at a time as goes through the potty training phase.
Gosh…I hope not.
I am happy for the win. But I don’t contribute to the Hartman Fund to watch the slow white 3rd string running back try and run wide. I think our offense sucks. I blame the offense for last week too. I see why we play so much without the fullback-our tailback rarely followed his lead. Toss sweep? who ever heard of that? Zero creativity on offense. We copied TN with the two wide receiver stacks but they did it much better than us.
Malcolm Mitchell. Won that one almost by himself.
Hey, it was exactly 3x better than 3-2. Two weeks to prep for TWLCP.
Wil take a win any day. Nice to pull out a tough one.
Coaches better come up with something in the next 2 weeks. Gaytor D is a lot more formidable then Mizzou’s. Thier 0 seemed not to miss a beat against a pretty good LSU D. Gaytors play well on special teams.
Our D played well but still not ready for the big stage. Towns don’t make that play on the int. We lose 13-9.
Just don’t see this team progressing. No confidence in the coaches to fix it in 2 weeks. Maybe winning this tough one will help.
It has been a long time since I have seen a UGA win like that. I thought the team played tough and with a lot of heart. The talent may not be what we thought, but those kids are playing hard with no quit. Good on them.
Still 5 and 2. I am concerned about UF, and UK.
Good news is that GT is even worse this year!
^^This. Also, while I may not have thought so at the time, CMR recognized the type of game he was in and, in retrospect, clearly made the correct moves to win the game. Kudos to CMR for his game management decision making. (I previously thought I would never, ever, type something like that.)
Wow. That makes two of us. 😉
Tech had 35,000 folks watching their match with mighty Pitt…hell we had more people than that leave at the half of the Bama game.
My biggest complaint about the win is that once again, it feels like the coaches were playing “not to lose” and nearly did because of it. They clearly have no confidence that Lambert won’t screw it up somehow so the calls in the red zone were designed to get into field goal position, which as Morgan proved is dicey at best. I would love to see this staff go for the win and instill the belief in the team that they should win, the way some staffs do. I will say that I loved the onside kick even though it didn’t work. God bless Malcom.
onside kick and going for it on 4th and short in the 1st half is “playing not to lose”?
He’s got his argument and he is sticking to it. Who needs facts.
3 for 4 kicking, and Marshall is “dicey at best”?? DGD scored ALL of our points in a WIN, including shrugging off the miss for the go ahead score near the end. No wonder people say our fans are awful..
Going for it on fourth and short I understand. Running up the middle when they load the box I don’t.
Bad play call yes, playing not to lose NO!
You’re alone on this one brother
Going for it on 4th and short in the first half is all good and I said already I liked the onside kick, but what about the 4th and short at about the Mizzou 16 yard line? If I remember correctly (and if I am wrong, please take glee in correcting me), they ran three running plays instead of trying to score a touchdown, only to have Morgan miss the chip shot. That’s the time to go for 4th and short given Morgan’s struggles. I’m not saying the every call was conservative, just that it’s frustrating that the absence of faith in the QB seems to be making them play so that they don’t have the big “eff up” that nearly happened several times last night. It appeared to me the coaches were coaching so that Lambert didn’t have a chance to lose the game. Just saying.
For everyone posting the “Richt played not to lose” stuff. Did y’all watch any UGA football during the BVG years?
Good things may still happen. Seems like back in ’07 we needed to claw back against an inferior opponent a couple weeks before going to meet a daunting Gator team. That’s why we play the games.
Oh…and did you know Mizzou had a bad offense? Seems like I heard that somewhere.
We may lose in 2 weeks, but we have to play the game anyway. Why not go in expecting a win?
There will be plenty of time for the frontrunner crowd to whine afterwards if we lose. Nobody likes being 5-2 rather than 0, but isn’t this about what most people expected us to be when they made their projections in July?
Why not go in expecting a win in two weeks? Because you can be disappointed and miserable for 2 weeks rather than on October 31 if your fears play out. Or, maybe you are of French heritage and would like to surrender in advance.
I wish Florida’s team, and their fans had given away that game last season when it looked like UGA was Mission Impossible. Instead they pulled a significant upset. I don’t take issue with assessing that the game looks like FU has the upper hand based on what we have seen the past few weeks, but I see games every single weekend that have unlikely results. Coaches and players have two weeks to make some changes, I am hopeful that we can make some changes in the offense, build on what the defense looked like last night, and allow some players to get back to full strength. Do I have concerns about us? You bet, but this Florida team struggled with Mizzou, TN, and Kentucky when they played them. Not going over the ledge if we lose, but not giving up in advance.
By God sir….when we beat Florida, we gotta worry about Auburn and Tech, they will both be desperate, vicious….
Its always easier to quit, to give up, than to believe.
“Or, maybe you are of French heritage and would like to surrender in advance.”
My favorite thing I have read today, thank you : )
I told my wife last night that the game felt like Richt’s first few years in Athens. A few moments of brilliance on offense but by and large we settled for a lot of field goals and a solid defense to keep us in games. At the time, it was an improvement over what we had with Donnan but now it feels like regressing.
The problem was that there was nothing to feel good about prior to that game. It’s not like they blew out Tennessee on the road and then dicked around with UAB a few weeks later because they were flat. They were ready to play against Missouri, and they barely won. It was less, “Well, they played bad in that one.” and more, “I guess that’s just who they are.”
If you are attempting to rebut Rocksalt’s point about 2007, you are citing the wrong year. We got beaten badly by UT in 2007 and scored, IIRC, just 1 TD in a home loss to SC. We needed a Vandy fumble and a FG as time expired to beat Vandy.
We then knocked off UF.
Let’s show up and play the game.
I’m not refuting the 2007 point. I think expecting this team to repeat that performance is borderline insane, but that’s irrelevant. I’m reacting to the statement about this game feeling different from similar games early in Richt’s tenure.
I told my wife last night it felt like Ray Goff was coaching.
I told my wife last night that the game felt like Richt’s first few years in Athens.
Thought the same thing.
Told my friend sitting next to me that I smelled 2003 on it.
He went for it on 4th down early on Mizzou’s 49 and tried an onsides kick that caught them completely flatfooted but physics intervened. That’s not “playing not to lose.”
Watching the game would of never had guessed that mizzou had a bad offense. Doh
Also might have never guessed that we have two or three decent tight ends on the roster.
The game management of a NFL million dollar OC
First, what is wrong with Theus?
Godwin played well on punt returns. So where has this been rather than McKenzie. He and Davis nicked up, but he is good on returns.
Not so good on blocking. So would you line him up twice to block for Mitchell and the Mizzou corners bust him and Mitchell. Why not let Mitchell do that at least once.
Red zone TDs. Absent when Shotty gets pass happy inside 20.
My conclusion .
This is an average team. Short on offensive depth. And sorely lacking in offensive coaches.
At least Pruitt is building depth and experince with those young players. 3 true frosh playing in secondary.
-Game management, literally, ftw. Only chance Mizzou had was for UGA to empty a whole clip in its foot, and they only let off a few rounds.
-Theus played well for a good while, then had got beat a couple of times at key points. The larger issue was he and a bunch of other OL playing for about 4 seconds then standing up like “surely the play is over now.” Seriously, all 5, not playing to the whistle consistently.
-Godwin looked solid. Wonder what the hold-up is on McKenzie, because it seemed like he was fine.
-The bubble screens were killing me. At least put a bigger wideout out there, let Chigbu or Stanley get some minutes, those guys look like they can hold a block.
-The bubble screen that killed momentum in the 3Q was pretty damn infuriating, wasn’t it? Their D-line was finally on its heels, and we hand them a 2nd and 15.
-This team is a weird sort of average. It’s still puzzling. Their ceiling is so high above them (except for Lambert, and that’s pretty important).
-The frosh were awesome. Lots of them on the field, and not just ST. Making plays.
Highlights from last night’s game
If the opening interception is a pick six or the defense fails to hold we are looking at a 10-9 game. That would make me feel worse today.
I told my wife last night I needed to get to bed early and could use some cheering up. Ya know, I might come to prefer these closely played night games.
If our opening pass is a TD and our kicker is solid on field goals….
Its kinda like takin yo momma-in-law to the airport after she’s been in town for a month…traffic is terrible, 285 is a parking lot, she’s bitching, but finally, finally the old bat goes through the boarding gate….
Lemme tell you…I went through eight hats last nite, some of them have not seen light of day since Steve Greer was a player….it was that kind of thing, there…
But this morning I feel pretty good. And not upset about having a week off, at all. 🙂
I totally get choosing to be optimistic or hopeful going into Jax. But the folks trying to pretend Lambert had a good game because of completion percentage or whatever, come on. Nobody watching that game could possibly think that — about either QB.
A lot of people though Mason was better than he was because of completion %.
Think most see the online is average. They can not get consistent pushes.
No play or players can seal the edge. If not vertical and inside it does not go.
Now we know why Bono and Friend left.
Now we know why there were 8 defenders on the LOS. CMR can say you have to run and run and run. Three SEC teams say go ahead with that. In 3 SEC games…2 at home and one on the road….last three. Throw out Chubbs long run in Bama game….4 FGs. That is it.
Shut down the scoreboard. Let the cheerleaders hold up the damage scores.
