Eh, what’s one more game?

Behold, college football’s latest dumb idea.

Are you finished?  Allow Bill Connelly to retort.

This is like settling it on the field times infinity, right?  Or, it could just be about the money.

Yeah, I think I’ll go with the money here.  I’d say that I hope the Big 12’s first championship game results in the conference being knocked out of the four-team playoff, but all that will lead to are calls to expand to eight.

Maybe they can arrange to broadcast the game on the Longhorn Network.

Why in the world won’t they expand to 12 teams already.

Why not hold a March Madness style 64 team tourney with the 10 Big 12 teams?

Just THINK of the money they’d make in TV ads!

By taking entire conferences out of the playoff, I think they are heading back to a Pick-Two Playoff.

How can these aholes be so vapid while the world watches over their shoulder?

We now have another “Big-Game Bob” and for a differing reason.

In the era of everyone gets a trophy are they going to name a “regular season” champion and a “Championship game” champion in hopes of putting two teams in the playoffs?

It will be great to have another competitive game to watch, just hope they don’t play it on championship Saturday as schedule is too crowded. Big 12 needs to get back to minimum of twelve teams and have two divisions…and they need to that quickly.

    • If they had done this last year it would of been a rematch of Oklahoma-Oklahoma State which would of been a back to back rematch. OU won the game by about 35 I think. So competitive may be not. 🙂

Adding a playoff game between the top two big 12 teams isn’t the kind of game that hurts to watch though.

I post this from time to time, but evidently Mr. Bowlsby has not yet seen it. Let’s try again. There are four playoff spots and five major conferences. Each year, one major conference champion will be left out at a minimum. You are 1 for 2 on getting in. The conference title game will do nothing to improve your chances if your teams aren’t worthy.

This is just about the money.

Real shame that the NCAA is just now letting this happen. If the ACC had been allowed a title game at 9 teams, conference realignment may have never happened. At least, not the way it played out.
