Your weekly non-Dawg game day post, 10/1 edition

Here are a few choice morsels for you to analyze today:

#14Miami

Georgia Tech

12:00 PM

Whatever your feelings about the coaching change, you gotta be rooting for the genius to continue to be owned at home by Richt, right?

North Carolina

#12Florida State

3:30 PM

Is this a handy gauge to measure Georgia’s performance in the opener?

#8Wisconsin

#4Michigan

3:30 PM

Wisconsin is a better team than I thought, but good enough to win in Ann Arbor?

#9Texas A&M

South Carolina

4:00 PM

May have to cover your eyes at times watching this one.

Missouri

LSU

7:30 PM

One guess as to why this game’s of interest.

#3Louisville

#5Clemson

8:00 PM

We haven’t heard much from third-and-Grantham lately.  Will Deshaun Watson change that?

“We haven’t heard much from third and Grantham lately.”

I think I’ve been participating quite regularly in the discussions here.

Is there any Dawg fans that don’t want to see Miami kick the shit out of GT?

I doubt it. I was about to post almost exactly the same thing. I hope the ‘Canes stomp the living piss out of Tech.

Right now, it’s looking good. I’d like to see Richt’s dominance against the techies continue.

That’s a nice menu. Could be a 2 cigar day. Am I gonna need lower alcohol IPA to pace myself?

    Nah.

I’ve recently become an IPA man myself but they’re not like downing a 12 pk of Miller Lite. I’m fond of Abita Big Easy. Do you have any other low alcohol content other suggestions?

Just keep trying different ones. There must be literally hundreds of IPA’s out there.

A close to true statement: “The worst cold beer I ever had was terrific.”

Hah, an old man I used to work with used than line about sex. He used a much more colorful description though.

Not an IPA, but a lower alcohol pilsner craft beer I recently found is Wiseacre Tiny Bomb.

  5. Credit where credit is due: Grantham’s defense is balling this year.

Think A&M should roll SC, and I hope they pile it on. FSU/UNC should give us some perspective about UGA’s win, Noles should win and cover at home. I also feel Mizzou should cover that spread, and perhaps win straight up. Others were not impressed as much as I was with the new offense Mizzou has but I still feel they are going to win some games that surprises people but it is hard to judge how LSU might perform this week. I have been unimpressed with Clemson’s offense all season so Louisville is my pick tonight. But I was wowed by Venables’ defense last week against tech, realize it is a different offense entirely but I have never seen any defense be more prepared for a TO and execute their plan so watching Jackson against that defense should be very enlightening. Hard to believe the Cardinals are as good as they look but they have showed upo every week.

Looks like Richt takes that poor-tackling thing with him wherever he goes.

Those scoop-and-scores right there one after the other killed them. Tech is moving the ball on them, but just fucking up at critical moments. They scored to bring it within two scores right at the half, but they aren’t exactly a team built for comebacks.

“but they aren’t exactly a team built for comebacks.” Yeah, but you can’t argue with that, its Genius.

Some of me wants to hear the Genius crow after finally beating CMR at home, would be very GT esque. I expect Miami to win myself.

I think we got our FSU measuring stick last weekend. Or rather we got beat with that measuring stick.

There is no measuring stick out of anything UNC does because the current Georgia team is nothing like the team that beat UNC in the first game of the season. Kirby has now had time to completely f*ck up this team, which is getting worse each week. If they win enough to make it to a bowl we’ll be lucky.

This GT/U game is the most CMR thing ever. Sitting on a mid-sized lead but having to sweat out the GT comeback.
