SEC Power Poll, Week 5

secpowerpoll2008_medium

The SEC East is a mess.  Not a hot mess, though.  It’s too mediocre to be hot.

  1. Alabama.  Yawn.
  2. Texas A&M.  Farted around with the Gamecocks, but any road conference win is a good win.
  3. Ole Miss.  Bet the Rebels wish they could play FSU again.
  4. Tennessee.  The 2016 home of Gus Malzahn’s rabbit’s foot.
  5. LSU.  A school yardage record without Leonard Fournette?  Crack open a Red Bull for me, Coach O.
  6. Arkansas.  Nothing like having a tasty cupcake after getting your ass smoked the week before.
  7. Auburn.  There’s a part of me that wonders how the LSU game would have gone if Miles had been fired a week sooner.
  8. Florida.  The Gators impress me less with each week that goes by.
  9. Mississippi State.  They had an off week, so I’ll leave them where they were.
  10. Georgia.  The only team in the SEC with a defense that’s given up more than 100 points in conference play.
  11. Missouri.  So much for those “dark horse in the East” whispers.
  12. Kentucky.  It was 3-3 with Alabama after one quarter, y’all.  Take your happy times when you can.
  13. South Carolina.  The Gamecocks are averaging 14 points.  A game, I mean.
  14. Vanderbilt.  On average, if you’re an SEC team that can score nine points on the ‘Dores, game over.

I wonder if UT can hang with A&M this weekend. Having Chavis and a defense has really turned the Aggies around. As for us, there are signs that CKS is trying to bring SEC West toughness to UGA, and I like it. Our game with UF may be season defining.

Somehow I am thinking game with USCe may be the season defining game.

I’m thinking two losses in a row motivates us to play very well. I think we win, though probably not as comfortably as I would have thought pre-season.

If you had told me the Tennessee game was going to end the way it did, I would have assumed you were a Trump surrogate trying to distract me from his tax policies.

I have begun to get fairly reasonable comments from my UT fan neighbors.

To go from the Oxford woodshed to the Athens near-miracle…wait, does the td pass from Eason to Ridley still count as a miracle, even though we lost?

Anyway, this team did an amazing, simply astonishing turnaround in a week.

But Kirby’s real coaching test comes this week. Can he get their heads together and win in Columbia? After that fucking thing?

The Kharmic Bitchez say you got to suffer if you want to sing the fuckin blues…

I can only speak for me, but I think we are might damn close to BB King status.
