Go ahead, you tell Nick Saban that.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Yeah keep sports clean Senators. Stay out of the game of sports. Sports fan do not want you in that areana.
But Senator Manchin is not even close to pale face Senator Warren.
She is in Tallahassee this week, shooting a campaign pitch on the back of Renegade, throwing down the flamming spear in Doak Campbell.
Many FSU faithful are questioning why Chief Osceola allowed her to ride Renegade in the first place.
Plus they want her to have more DNA tests to prove where she is from Seminole ancestry or South American Inca or Mayan.
Some say she still has a little house atop of the Andes.

Will, this is commentary more appropriate to the Playpen. The post was about a college football coach injecting himself into a political race, not the merits of Warren.
Please respect the ground rules I set.

Terrible commercial. I couldn’t tell if he was a Democrap or a Repugnican, so how do I know if I should vote for him or not?

Easy, vote for America’s best interest. Or, in my case, vote against the anti-American party. We once voted for who would represent the district/state’s interest regardless of party. That day is long over as both parties demand adherence to the party line.
How long has it been since Saban was a resident of WVA? I would like to see ads limited to those who are among the constituents.

Amen!! Forget party affiliation. Vote for the betterment of American.
I thought Saban was an Alabamian.

So you’ll be voting straight Democrat down the ticket this year? Color me surprised.

Would that be the one that sympathizes with Kim Jong Un, Putin, and Saudi Arabia whilst appointing drunk rapists to the SCOTUS or the other one?

Saban for President, Dabo to Bama. Brings both programs down a bit and watching the Coke bottle as Press Secretary will be amusing.

Is there a fix in MLB WS this year.
Looks like MLB wants a big market game between the Dodgers and Bosox.
If MLB is not careful with salaries big market teams like Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, and Giants will be the only teams left.
Fans in small markets are giving up on the sports,
Simply watch what teams major broadcasters show the most off. The aforementioned teams.
Orioles should move to North Carolina bust up the northeast.
90 games for Braves. Many fans are excited about Braves once again.
More travel money to metro Atlanta.
Get a good pitching coach Braves!

Not sure how many of y’all stayed up past 1:00 a.m. last night to watch the Astros-Red Sox, but it was one of the more exciting games I’ve seen. Bottom of the 8th, top of the 9th and bottom of the 9th all featured some of the best outfield plays I’ve seen in a while. Of course, now I need sleep so I’ll miss the game tonight.

Damn AL games, and most post season in general, they seem to go on forever.
But yeah, last night, it was good, till I went to sleep.

Nearly 5 hours for a 9 inning game is ridiculous. With all the paranoia about stolen signs, it’s taking forever for each pitch. Baseball needs to go to electronic signals (ear piece, something in the glove, whatever) so the signals are secure and we can try to finish in under 3 hours. Remember when a pitcher’s duel would be over in 90 minutes?

There’s the angle. I’m betting Manchin’s nephew is 6’4″, 240, and a 5* LB, looking for a school.

Is West Virginia that proud of Saban? Since he’s at Bama he’s not going out on much of a limb but Huggins? Hmmm….

It’s West Virginia. You take whatever you can get.

“Cut after a 1977 tryout with the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, Huggins subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in health administration at his alma mater, West Virginia University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He had previously obtained two undergraduate degrees in education and physical therapy.” So yea, he may talk like a dolt but he’s got a pretty solid background.

Meh. I don’t see this as sports figures injecting themselves into politics as much as I think Joe was asking guys he knew with a WVa connection to endorse him and they said okay, we’ll do it. And it is a little refreshing because it doesn’t say that whoever Joe’s opponent is should be hanged on the public square for general douchebaggery. If I was running for something in GA and could get Herschel or Chipper or Dominique or Dale to endorse me I’d take it in a second.

Poor Joe’s in a tough spot. He’s a moderate democrat in a state that Trump gave a lot of false hope to with all the talk about saving the coal industry. Now the whole state is voting red waiting for the government to bring their jobs back. I’m not sure Saban has enough pull in West Virginia to save him.
