In the heat of the night

The SEC’s TV schedule for next Saturday is unraveled.

Auburn at 7PM, eh?  Is it just me, or does anyone else hear cries of “blackout!” already?

Am I reading this wrong? No 3:30 game?

Plus about a thousand posts calling for it on Twitter, the Dawgvent, Junkyard, etc. last night when the time was announced.

Seven more hours to get some linemen healthy.

    Eight, counting the time change.

Alabama-LSU replay on CBS at 3:30 pm, starring MSU in the role of LSU.

The team hasn’t played at home since October 6 – if they get the chance to vote for black jerseys, they deserve it.

I agree, and it shouldn’t be such a big deal for UGA to play occasionally in black jerseys. It isn’t fake juice if we just show up in black tops, it is one of our primary colors, and popular with the players (and fans). What I would prefer is it now be a major callout for fans to coordinate with them to show solidarity to show support. If you don’t support the team in both jersey colors, you aren’t much of a fan at all. Kirby has already allowed this so it isn’t like he is abandoning a UGA tradition. Just wish everyone would take it in stride. Helps that it is a fantastic look. I would have concerns if it were all black unis, or black helmets.

Don’t think it will happen. Kirby is an absolute traditionalist when it comes to UGA red jerseys & silver pants, and I agree. Best uniforms in college football.

Let me mention in passing that very quietly the Pirate’s team is having a very good season. Only one loss after 9 games and that one was to USC at USC early in the season in the game the PAC 12 hierarchy got caught meddling (read: fixing) the game. Wassou is favored in its 3 remaining games. If the Cougars win all three they are in the PAC 12 Championship game and nobody from the PAC 12 South is any good. Likely Wassou is going to be the PAC 12 champ and depending on how things shake out has a good chance to go to the 4 team playoff.

Yeah things could shape up to potentially have the biggest controversy yet over the playoff selection. Could possibly see an undefeated or one loss SEC champ, undefeated Notre Dame, undefeated Clemson, one loss Big 10 champ, one loss Big 12 champ Oklahoma, and one loss Pac10 champ Wassou. Through in an undefeated UCF yapping like a chihuahua and watch the fireworks.

I think a black out would be awesome, but I’d be pleasantly surprised if Kirbs approved it. He seems to think it’s too gimmicky and doesn’t want to be a part of anything like it. Ah, come on, Kirby!

  11. I’m wearing black on Saturday night whether the team does or not. Of course, I’ll change if Kirby calls for red.

After what TN did yesterday, not sure that game against UK should even be considered an “SEC contest”. Seven points by the TN offense, seven. After the game Pruitt pretty much said it was “a battle of equals”. Let that sink in, Charlotte has all of five years’ history in CFB! Damn. (And the Vols beat Auburn in JH.)

No…Fromm is programmed to and looks for open red jerseys downfield when he passes. Looking for black jerseys would be an un-necessary adjustment. Don’t mess with it.
