Look, if you want to slit your wrists over what happened to Notre Dame and South Carolina yesterday, don’t let me get in the way, but I suppose it’s worth noting that Georgia still sits sixth in Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings.
Also, for those of you who believe that LSU’s defense was a revelation yesterday, you might want to take a peak at this breakdown of Auburn’s offense:

Eventually Auburn wore down because their offense sucks. The clock rules screwed Auburn. First down – holding penalty on LSU, but they still get the full 40 second play clock which started the game clock and the play clock simultaneously and made it impossible for Auburn to get the ball back. After a penalty, the play clock should reset to 25. It made no sense that LSU should get the clock benefit associated with committing a live ball penalty.

Yes, but of course if LSU had not run for a first down (aided by the penalty), Auburn would’ve been able to decline it. In a similar situation if you want to get devious, you could probably instruct more players to hold to ensure you get the first down and watch the time run off the clock.

Auburn was not screwed, they were very fortunate to have the game look as close as the final score indicated. LSU dominated them in 1st down, rushing, passing, and time of possession (turnover difference was only one off). Had LSU not continued to shoot themselves in the foot, they would have won by the 2 TDs they were favored by, maybe more.
AU is very tough up front on defense but their QB is very inconsistent, and their running game isn’t very good. The only reason they had over 100 yards rushing on one play for 70 yards. They will be tough to beat in that hellhole they play in, but hey are not that good all around. FU trounced them, and they were taken to the wire by both Kentucky and Miami. We can worry about them in a couple of weeks, but they are out of going anywhere except a good bowl, and that is questionable.

The fact that LSU was rewarded for committing a penalty by getting a full 40 second play clock prevented Auburn from having an opportunity to get the ball back. In that case, the play clock should reset to 25 seconds rather than the full 40.
LSU was the better team and deserved to win. I’m making a comment on the unfair nature of the play clock rules especially in the last 2-3 minutes.

It’s Ohio State & then all the rest (as much as that disgusts me). Thinks they could run away with it.
Dawgs are overrated, until I see differently. If they ain’t got it together by now….seems doubtful they ever will, probably 2 more losses.
Thinks we stand a better chance if they just make Fromm OC…if only Kirby leaves him alone.
But for now, I’ll hope and dream….15 & 1 FWIS.

I actually like our chances against Florida. The team has been roasted for two straight weeks. If they don’t come out playing with their hair on fire something is definitely wrong. I think our defense can handle Mullen, especially if they can force a turnover. I have no idea what to expect from our offense, but this is arguably the most urgent game of Kirby’s career at UGA. No way he wants to be .500 against the Gators.

Hope you are right. Hopefully, our receivers will step up & are healthy. The key to the game imo…..along with play-calling (situational) & game planning.

Agree, I expect us to show up ready for this game, and if we don’t win against this FU team, it will be indicative something is wrong will how we are using this level of talent. We aren’t that far off, we have some weak areas like all teams, but this group has to gut it out after the first half of the season we have seen. No one is happy, many are over reacting, but it is put up time. We cannot waste this offensive talent, and the DBs have had time to gel.

I have already said they are flawed, as are the other teams, but I will give them a chance to improve after the 2 week break before I pronounce them dead for this year. Admit that after all spring and summer to work with them, I have doubts he is the guy to entrust this immediate fix to but this is our best hope. We are not irretrievably broken.

Eh, we aren’t playing like a top ten team, the O and special teams are average as compared to the current top 10. I have us at 10 simply because our team could play to that level, I don’t think any other 1 loss team could beat us if (doing the heavy lifting here) our team puts it all together.

Don’t disagree, with much of this at all, but we are better than 2-3 of those teams and have a higher ceiling than the rest of the bottom 7. All up to the staff and players now to prove that. We will have the answers to if we can hang by 8 PM on Saturday. Doesn’t mean we cannot stub our toe after this game, but we will know what we have under the hood in this game, there shouldn’t be any doubt about that, everyone knows the situation.
