That wasn’t so hard now, was it?

In response to the lawsuit filed by eight Nebraska football players, the Big Ten finally came clean about the vote to shut down the 2020 season.

My big question is why the presidents and chancellors felt the need to be coy about an 11-3 vote.  There was no reason to hang Warren out to dry like that.  You can bet Delany wouldn’t have put up with that sort of bullshit for a second.

Well, I mean, you’d have to think they would want it to stay secret because Wisconsin, Penn State, and say, Michigan fans are likely no gonna be super-pissed at their presidents and will let them know just how pissed they are. And often.

Not safe enough to play varsity sports but safe enough to have students on campus, in dorms, playing intramural sports, etc. Makes perfect sense.

We’ll see in the long term. I think the most painful lesson being learned may be stubbornness. They STILL have time to say “we’ll play it by ear” and try and get something going late sept to early october. They’ll get hit with bad PR for like 18 hrs, then somebody else will do something dumb and off they’ll go with college football.

I get risk, etc., but as I heard recently: “We’ve “certainly” upended many lives in 2020 on the uncertainties of “may” and “might.”
