Welp, that’s one thing going on our way.
Much like with Cleveland fans who just had that other shoe drop like a sumbitch, I’m going to go ahead and hold my breath while I wait.

Im still not sure why people are excited about him. Id rather see more of the underclass backs.

What happened to stats like total yards and touchdowns? Seems like a good way to measure a player and teams.

Devil, when you were humping that M240-G did it hit you in the back of the head multiple times?
Cook is a WEAPON when properly deployed, as he was many times this year, especially once Daniels entered the picture.
Guy like that can run, he can line up in the slot, he can line up outside, he can go in motion, he can be the guy the other team needs to know where he is at all times, which makes him a distraction.

Now do that to everyone else in the offense.
Do that for Washington. Shit, do it for Pickens.
Why not look at things like his “per” averages?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Why do it for Washington? We dont throw to TEs around here except in a game when someone else enters the portal.
Why do it for Pickens? Hell even Fromm didnt throw it much to him.
The one thing UGA does it give it to the running backs. You’ll have to excuse my bias from Edwards, hes from my hometown. But Milton and McIntosh have “it” to me and deserve more opportunites.

Would you agree that Nick Saban is a good football coach?
He specifically called out James Cook during halftime in Tuscaloosa this year as someone they needed to do a better job defending.

Herring leaving, but thinks Walker would be a terror as a replacement…..speed, size and attitude.

Yep, the forgotten man. Can remember it being reported that he ran a 4.6/40 in HS. Not bad for a big man….another year could get him in round 1 to 3.
Check out the speed in the linked article (video).

Thinks we will be fine on the DL if Davis stays.
Also got another and My God he’s a freshman!!”

While I’d love to have Davis back, I have full confidence in Carter. He was a difference maker at times this year as a true freshman. He’s going to be a full beast going forward.

Carter is going to be great, but doesn’t play the same spot as Davis. We need both of them to dominate the line.

It seems that “hashbrown unfinished business” is the theme for the guys forgoing the draft.
Looks like we have a “Revenge Tour 2.0” brewing in Athens.
I love it!

More good news:
Matt Landers has entered the transfer portal so he can go not try hard for some other team.
Good for him, even better for us!
LikeLiked by 4 people
While I don’t like to speak ill of any of our players, I’m sure Landers was surprised when he saw Pickens lay out for that bomb in the Peach Bowl. I’m guessing he didn’t know that was expected behavior.

Was my first thought…..Pickens has had a few of those where he has stretched out like that this season.
On Landers, best wishes to him……but I sure as hayul don’t mind saying it. The fellow just didn’t want it bad enough.
If you are afraid to stretch out to make a catch….you are in the wrong sport or at the wrong position. Probably a little both for him.
Glad the project is over, time to move on & give someone else a chance.
Hard to teach “want to”.

Russ,
Based on #5’s past performances he may not have known that was legal to
actually dive for a pass in his defense. I never saw his jersey dirty unless a defender knocked him down. Best wishes for him on another team.

That opens up a nice spot for Arik Gilbert. I’m sure Landers looked at his position on next years depth chart as about the 10th or 11th out of 9 or so options and decided it was time to mosey on down the road (kind of like one of his pass routes).

Who else do we not yet know about? Zeus, Tyson Campbell and Jordan Davis? The secondary will be kinda thin if Campbell leaves. Stokes, Webb, Daniel and LeCounte are already gone. Looks like Ringo will be thrown in the fire.
LikeLike
The secondary will be the only real question mark heading into next season. There’s no lack of talent back there, but not much of it’s proven. They’re really going to need Brini or somebody to come on to replace LeCounte.

Isn’t Smith only a junior? I was thinking we’d at least have Cine and Smith to start at the two safeties. Not sure of the depth behind them, though.
LikeLiked by 1 person
So I looked at the roster and Smith is a Jr so it should be he and Cine. We still look thin as far as backups, unless they move a CB or two. Major Burns and Brini are the only other guys actually listed as safeties. Everyone else is listed as CB or DB.

He would be one of the or somebodies. I honestly wasn’t that impressed by him or Brini in their limited time, though Brini looked a bit more physical to me. One of them or somebody else will need to improve was my point, because FS looks like a weak spot right now.
