Danny White’s got a plan for everything.

Okay, this seems a mite ambitious, even for Vol Land.

The “Rise Glorious” plan specifically outlines how the program must perform to reach its goals. They want to win a national championship in at least one sport every four years with each sport notching at least one national top-16 finish every four years.

Then again, this is Danny White we’re talking about.  It’s not beyond him to simply declare that his football program won a natty, is it?

Honestly, at least he is setting an objective goal and I have to admire that. I think that is better than the usual nonsense bureaucrat speak of “we need to compete for championships in all sports”. It seems to me if a school fields a team in any sport it is technically “competing for a championship”. Vanderbilt “competes for a championship” in football every year, they just fall a little short.

Like White or not (i don’t), this is a good plan.

Does this include those “other” championships on the tweets that have been circulating lately, like Georgia Tech’s quiz bowl championship? I feel like Tennessee could win a natty in underwater basket weaving, they’ve got the Vol Navy after all.

Gives him a good reason to fire coaches for sure..

I’m all for Tennessee continuing to cycle through coaches every few years. Heck, they need to bring in someone to run (and recruit for) the triple option! That will set them back years.

He’s got a plan, but forgot to mention that the 1st year of 4 years & the last year of the next 4 years basically means they can still accomplish the goal every 8 years.

Not sure why everyone is giving him grief, other than he is a magnanimous penis. Unless you set goals and make them clear and understandable it makes it difficult for everyone to work for the same target.
All the goals he states are doable with the resources available to ut. The big question would be is he going to make the resources needed available to the staff or is he going to pull a McG and set spending to the middle for the pack and expect championship results?
