But since the league expanded in 1992 and split into two divisions, no team that started the season unranked in the AP poll has gone on to win the SEC championship.

    What about teams that started out unranked and won their respective SEC division that same year? Has that happened since ’92?

    at this point I’d be happy with just making it to Atlanta, so we could still do that and that little historical nugget from Mr. Low would continue to be true.

      I’m with you in spirit, but I also know that if we get to the Dome and don’t win the thing, I’m not going to be happy about it. I wouldn’t be screaming for Richt’s head at that point, but then again, I’m not now, either.

    There’s always a first. Red Sox were the first to win a series after being down 3-0. Cocks were first team to win the East w/ 3 losses. Let us be the first to win the SEC after starting off unranked.
