I just love TV spokespeople sometimes.

“Yes, advertisers do pay us collectively umpteen billion dollars a year to advertise about 15 minutes per hour based on the demonstrated ability for that exposure to influence directly consumer behavior and perceptions. But no, we have zero influence whatsoever beyond that during the other 45 minutes we’re broadcasting. And yes, we do throw money at CFB programming like drunken sailors, but we never use that leverage help our own business interests. At the end of the day, we see ourselves as a non-profit tail-gating advocacy group.”

Exactly. Saban is a guest commentator for the SEC Championship pre-game show and seems to be on the four-letter every time you turn it on…and bammer makes the MNC game even tho others certainly deserved their shot as well. Nope, no unfair influence there AT ALL.

      Damn fine analysis right there.

  2. Wow. Stephen Hill was a junior this year? What a waste of a college career. But, I totally understand his decision to leave: he’s not going to improve his draft stock running fly routes for a triple option team.

I don’t get this Dyer situation. Is Malzahn really worth sitting out a year and going to Arkansas State? Or are they more or less trying to kick him out of Auburn? I am so confused. They are one year removed from a National Title…

He is just looking for a place to get some reps and go pro next year. At least that is what it seems like. He is not going to sit for a year and suit up next year, so Ark State seems illogical.

Apparently he may have screwed up at Auburn too. They ruled him ineligible for the bowl game. Can’t imagine what he could have done to get that level of punishment at Awbarn–that the rough equivalent to getting sent to Gitmo for everyone else.

I thought probably the biggest challenge I had all season — and we had, I shouldn’t say I — was team building.

The Precious almost forgot that there’s only a “me” in team.

Not only did SOD have chemistry problems such as too much or not enough water, pressure changes depending upon the length of the hose and in adjusting the med levels so they would be just right, etc., they also had confusion with motivational signage. They plan to fix the chemistry problems with a replacement consultant who they hope will be better than the one who came up with last season’s solution

Sorry, DIF, began falling asleep at the 30 sec mark. Can’t go for nearly 5 more mins. Was there something important here or were you showing how demotivating a “motivational speaker” can be?, Ahh, this was shown to Dyer just before he left?,or to Tenn’s players just after they shook hands with the orange dog statue? Or to Kristi in a Welcome to Jonesboro C of C presentation? Or an “Oh shit!, Now is Here” followup film? Probably has the players exclaiming,” I want to meet the orange dog again!”

Just can’t listen any further…pulling my hair out…please save this to present as a space invaders D weapon to bore them stupid where they will leave.

You made it further into the video than I did. I just haven’t been the same since Cross Church, Inc., scrubbed the Kristi extravaganza.

Actually, I enjoyed that video when it was available. The cringing masked by the pastor and an end to body movement is a study in listening comprehension at work. She would blast out about not taking any crap from her daughter while the pastor’s mind was in histerics racing around as to how to get that mike out of her hand while not showing any emotion. A good “Praise The Lord” might have been appropriate as he wrestles for the mike, but it may conjure up scenes from a Chevy Chase movie where he attends a revival meeting in La.

Yessir, it was a fun watch.

No revival meeting. or “Praise the Lord” movie is in the same universe as “Leap of Faith” with Steve Martin. But I am probably wrong about that, it was considered a bust….I bought it anyway.

“The question isn’t who will catch passes on the Flats next season. It’s does Paul Johnson care?”

I think GaTech is going to miss S Hill. I don’t know if they have anyone on the roster who can make a defense pay for ignoring the deep threat.

Getting him to play in their offense is one of the few recruiting victories Johnson and Co have enjoyed.

The sledding likely won’t get any easier on the Flats in 2012. I look forward to that.

The trick here is to read of the downfall of the Empire all around us and simultaneously keep a blanket of humbleness about our team.

Has anyone read of the followup to Crowell’s injury in the bowl game? The silence on that subject (that should cause great angst among the faithful when your star running back is injured) is beginning to become tedious while we speak of others that will be healed and available by Spring Practice. Why aren’t there inquiries and statements issued? Makes you wonder.

On top of other problems, Tenn and Aub may have attitudinal problems? Like we had last year and Richt courageously cut down? Does anyone see the switcheroo karma between these programs while Tenn and Aub sink lower? Gotta be heartening to Dawg Nation.

Just know you have a “SOD is Nowhere” title set up for the future, so why not consider “Burnt Lawn” as a title for overfertilized sod? Sorta goes along with an orange concrete dog mascot on it, eh? A nonmobile buttsniffer may be his symbolic legacy to SEC football.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing regarding Crowell’s injury. The omission is somewhat comical. It’s like they don’t believe he is hurt or have just thrown in the towel on predicting his recovery. We can only hope the ankle is better by September. Spring practice seems a bit too optimistic for an ankle sprain.

Yet, how long until he gets hit again and crumples to the turf like a piece of wet tissue paper? (The first play in spring practice?) The only injury report I’ll believe regarding IC at this point is the one referring to fixing his brain problem (“Crowell is set to go to attitude adjustment training including the Jack Lambert Toughness Regimen while also receiving tips from Knowshon Moreno about desire…”).
