Random afternoon question

Was Oklahoma’s loss to Texas Big Game Bob’s way of proving to the world that the Big 12 is a more balanced, and thus better, conference than the SEC?

I’ve always found the Tao of Nick instructive on Big Game Bob’s arithmetic problem of, “What’d we (the Big 12) have, eight of 10 teams in bowl games this year? Again, you figure it all out.”:

“I’ve got more important things to do than sit around and read what Bob Stoops has to say about anything.”

How incredibly bad a job of coaching must BGB and the rest of the Oklahoma coaches done to, not only lose to Texas, but get shellacked by them as well. Texas lost big to Ole Miss and would have lost to Iowa State (the worst team in the Big 12 this side of Kansas) if the refs hadn’t stolen the game for them.

I think Stoops wanted Texas to keep Mack Brown along longer.

Actual answer: Oklahoma just ain’t that good. “Aint that good” teams can lose to teams like Texas.

As a DFW resident, I can honestly say that the Texas fans were torn between their desire to beat OK and their secretly hoping for a blowout so Mack would be canned. They won the battle but probably lost the war.

As for BGB he once again earned the name, because he can screw up a big game with the best of them. If he spent a little more time worrying about the Big 12 (which only has 10 teams vs the BIG 10 that has 12 teams-maybe they should switch names but I digress) instead of showing his jealousy of the SEC then maybe he would have his team ready. Very poor job of coaching.

Yet another defensive genius has had a difficult time prospering, even in Oklahoma…Book on BGB?…Saban did not write it.

Upon learning that the conference alpha-numerics were out of control and no longer made sense, Big Game sends following order to OU Math Department Chair, “You figure it all out.” That way he can spend more time watching film and coaching instead of trying to figure out arithmetic and doing photo ops

Maybe, while they are at it, they can figure out why there are teams in the Southeastern Conference that aren’t in the Southeast.

I’d like to point out that this is the same Texas team that got waxed by 3 touchdowns at home by a team that is currently 1-3 in the SEC.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but I was listening to the SiriusXM College Sports show a short time ago when both the announcer, Braden Gall, and the analyst, Houston Nutt, agreed that the number of teams in the new CFB playoff was going to go from 4 to 8 almost immediately. What about the 12 year contract? Gall: “That means nothing. They can change the contract when they change the number of teams.” It’s already starting.

The Big XII exists to support The Longhorn Network, whose ratings had fallen along with the performance of the football team.

Bob was just doing his part for the good of the conference. 😉

Leave BGB alone. He’s the only reason I chose Texas last week.
