Is this gushing? I think this is gushing.
Todd Gurley was back at practice on Tuesday and, according to quarterback Aaron Murray, he was a sight for sore eyes.
“Beautiful as always,” said Murray, asked after practice how Gurley looked. “I was looking at him and I was like, ‘goodness, gracious that dude is huge.’ I mean he’s a pretty sucker to look at. He looked good. He did everything. Y’all see us when we do run polish. He did every rep with me and he looked good. I asked him how he felt and he said he feels good. We’ve got another two weeks so he’ll be full go by Florida hopefully. It’s definitely great to have him back.”
Love is a many splendored thing, y’all. I know just how he feels. And I doubt you’ll hear a bigger cheer in Jacksonville than when we see number 3 step on the field. Hopefully.
He completely changes the offensive game plan in ways that Marshall right now can’t. I hope he’s able to carry the ball 20-25x next Saturday because we’ll need every one of them.

Is this a post from 3 weeks ago? Where am I?

What I meant was that Gurley has the ability to do things that none of the other running backs can. Sorry if it came across that Marshall was available.

Let’s hope Conley and Bennett make it back as well, And we hear some Rumph from the crowd!

We need to go into Jax and work up a “Number 6” on ’em!

We have really really missed not having that battering ram or the threat of him near the goal line, it will help but we really need Bennett and Conley too. What’s the word on Wooten?

I too hope the cheer when he steps on the field is your biggest cheer of the day 😀

That doesn’t mean I expect it to be the only time we’ll be cheering. Besides, I’m pretty quiet late in the game when I’m gazing on all those empty blue seats abandoned by Florida fans. 😉

It was pretty loud the end of last year, when Jordan Reed found yet another way to disappoint UF fans with a poorly advised jump.
Still, I have reason for hope this year. The only two WLOCP’s I’ve been two were the past two, and I’ve been told I am not welcome back.

I’ve gotta say that UFTimmy is a pretty classy troll..so far. He doesn’t come on here with snarkism and venom, but just adds (sometimes useful) remarks. Still, hes’a Gator and therefore bears watching.

I give him full credit for identifying himself, unlike the NATS trolls that are too embarrassed to do the same.

My Gator friends say I’m a pessimist, my rival friends say I’m a well rationed Gator fan. I think that says a lot of about fan bases and rampant homerism that goes on for most fan bases.

Wow. I wish I could find a way to ration Gator fans. I’d be rich. 🙂

I, too, have to admitt that I heart me some Gurley! I believe if we had put him in the game last week and just let him stand in the backfield as a decoy it would have changed Vandy’s whole defensive scheme. He’s a big, fast, mean runner that impacts both teams when he’s in the game.

No…by the time the refs figured-out he was just a decoy, they would have thrown a flag for targeting on him in the 2nd half and we’d have lost him for the first half of the FL game.

I am glad Gurley is getting well. But when you are one play away from the second teamer behind him every time he touches the ball, I just hope the o line is getting better acquainted with Green and Douglas and how much time they need to hold blocks for each of them, because each of them requires slightly different lanes to run in.
I hope to see us line up in the I formation and run the toss sweep one thousand times.

Gurley won’t help much if the OLine continues to let our backs get stoned at the LOS. Against 8 in the box you can’t afford any missed blocks. Gurley should be most effective on screens and swing passes.

Correct. and that’s why one of the receivers needs to make them pay by getting open deep or just getting some separation. If they put 8 in the box, we have to throw it.

I believe Bobo’s solution for this is to run Green up the middle from the single back shotgun. It’s gonna work someday, dammit, and then we’ll see who has the last laugh!!
