And that was not to screw up a job hire as badly as Mike Hamilton used to do. Scratch that.
Tennessee fired men’s basketball coach Donnie Tyndall for cause Friday morning because it believes the NCAA is likely to charge him with significant violations as a result of its investigation into Tyndall’s former Southern Miss program. Also included in the termination letter obtained by the News Sentinel is that the first-year UT coach deleted emails of NCAA interest.
Jeez. Bruce Pearl, dude. What were you thinking?
Amazing.

Is it time to look at shutting UT down?

You know this is gonna chap the hide of all those UT fans who were upset about not bringing Pearl back in the first place. Oh and Pearl’s buyout right now is $5 million, for anyone wondering. Can’t imagine UT being willing to stomach that plus pay $2.5 mil/yr for the new contract to go get a coach they previously had to fire.

Knowing as I do that college football fans are not easily embarrassed, if at all, this has got to sting a little. I guess the hiring of Sgt. Carter makes up for it though.

He wasn’t improving the basketball program at Tennessee.
It was a good move to cut their losses now.

They are in big trouble. Hart also has an academic role/title and was using it to exercise pressure on the academic and student judiciary sides. I can’t see how he keeps his job much longer…

We have all laughed and joked at the dumpster fire Dickhead left at Florida.
If Florida was (is?) a dumpster fire, Tennessee is a conflagration of biblical proportions.
Bad management has destroyed Tennessee’s sports programs, brick by brick.
And you know who is probably most saddened by all this horror?
Phil Fulmer.
