Folks have been waiting for the Bama/UGA matchup ever since the 2012 SEC game. Does someone else have the rights? This would seem a no -brainer to anyone with money as their biggest reason to televise college football games.

The UGA/Vandy game from a few years ago was on CBS, I believe. The Ray Drew ejection, Wilson targeting game.

I think it was a noon kick, but was on CBS. I remember hearing that all SEC games have to be on CBS every 3 years or so…one of the stipulations of the TV contract.

“all SEC games have to be on CBS every 3 years or so” – Did you mean all SEC teams? You are right that it was on CBS…

Matt Moore is his name – believe he just retired from officiating as well.

I believe Matt Moore was also secretly shown the door by the SEC. IMHO he was just as bad as Penn Wagers, just sneakier about how he went about it. In the Georgia-Vandy game above he was pulling out his flag BEFORE Drew hit the QB. Some on this blog speculated at the time that he was pulling the flag to throw it against a Vandy O-lineman who was clearly holding on that play and changed his mind in mid-toss and used it to call targeting on Drew. I personally believe he had already made up his mind he was going to flag Drew on the play before Drew even hit the guy and was going to do so no matter what Drew did. Watch the game replay and you decide for yourselves.

    • Uninvited, you are correct. I was thinking “CBS at 3:30”, but didn’t type that. My bad.

A couple of good news items from this announcement:

Georgia/South Carolina will likely be a home game in Athens since Auburn/LSU is the 3:30 CBS game

Georgia @ Auburn will likely not be a night game since that is a noon/3:30 CBS double header day and our game will likely be one of the two chosen.

Ga/SC will definitely be a home game in Athens, did you mean noon? God I hope it’s not a noon game.

The Ex-Georgia Player Bowl being shown on CBS is interesting; I always figured that’d be on ESPN.

Why would they pick UGA Vandy over LSU at Miss State?
