Film study with David Greene

Watch a couple of ESPN clips where he breaks down some plays in the Missouri game:  here with Mark Richt and here with Jeremy Pruitt.

There’s some good stuff, but, man, when you see plays where Lambert does things exactly as he’s coached, it sure is frustrating to think about the plays where he doesn’t

Makes you wonder what the HECK Lambert sees and doesn’t see. I think the moniker “Dr. Greyson and Mr. Lambert” is fitting…Let’s hope Dr. Greyson shows up next week…

a loss rarely is one guy’s fault, the tenn game you had the David dropped td pass perfectly thrown and the fumble by Sony.

  2. From the Pruitt clips, it’s apparent to me that our guys are so much more comfortable in man than zone. The play where Kimbrough goes after the QB was covered beautifully.

From the Richt clip, it seems that we’re good on offense when the line does its job and gives Lambert the opportunity to see the field. The downfield play to Godwin requires good protection to allow the play to develop. Line play has been the head scratcher of the season so far.

If O line play is your only head-scratcher, EE….I guess I better get to the doc early this morning, I may have an infestation of something causing multiple scratching. Not that I disagree about the O line…or rather about the pass protection…not just the O line. This team sets my head to itching almost every play on both sides of the ball.

🙂 Ok, if you are on that one, I’ll get out the dandruff shampoo about the kicking game….if somebody will take defense, maybe we’ll get this thing straightened out by cocktail hour.

    • Maybe keeping the TE’s in is why I think that Lambert has had a lot of time to mull around back there, but It doesn’t seem to me that the OL is doing bad on pass protection. The QB just holds it too long.

I agree. While the OL has had breakdowns, they have on the whole done enough for a good QB to succeed. They did enough for Chubb to get 13 straight 100 yd games.

  3. Sweet baby Jesus…the deep post was wide open on that first play. I mean damn.

      Without watching the clip…

Is it the play where we were on our own 13? If so, I remember it vividly. Mitchell had to be crushed when Lambert didn’t see him streaking downfield wide open.

Y’all are rough. He had the post, but you don’t have a clue what he sees at that point…I think he did a nice job picking up Godwin and then on the second play, he did great job not going for it all with Mitchell which he easily could have.

      • Dude it was wide open. The safety bit down, which is exactly what the read is. If the safety comes down it’s 1-on-1 with your single best player. You have to take those shots.

Yep. And even if it turns into an incomplete somehow, you’ve at least shown you’ll try beating them deep.

If Lambert is the blame for the 2 losses, must be credited for being the hero for the 5 wins.
Lambert isn’t the first UGA Qb to play inconsistently in wins and losses, remember 2012?

    I always enjoy watching those.

Obviously CMR is better at it than CJP.

Also great to see Greene again.
